[12/03/2011] What is Phishing?
Phishing – any form of electronic communication (via email or instant messenger), which is sent from fraudsters, hoping to acquire sensitive financial or personal information such as credit card numbers, PIN codes, or usernames and passwords. In most cases, the messages appear to be sent by a legitimate bank, credit card issuer, or online payment solution sites and the recipients are redirected to fraudulent web pages, which look almost identical to the genuine ones.
