Claim title: Butchered kitchen and missing parts
[08/01/2013] Mrs Parker: Wow, just found this website out of interest and I'm astonished at some of the comments. Back in August me and my husband got a kitchen from them in the cream range (not the gloss type) and it still looks fine and fully functional. I will be honest, one of the kickboards (stated as plinth on the plan)wasn't on the van and a couple of the handles weren't the right type but rather than wait on the phone we went to the warehouse ourselves. We climbed the stairs and were dealt with by a pregnant lady from the Customer Services (can't for the life of me remember her name) but she was friendly enough. After waiting half an hour or so we had our kickboard and swapped the handles and that was that. I can honestly say it wasn't as problematic as the comments above. Maybe you should do the same? My husbands friend fitted the kitchen and said he had one or two mishaps but I can’t see anything.. or maybe it’s just my age. But in all honesty, my kitchen is fine after 5 months.

They haven't supplied all the cabinets nor the granite worktops and splashbacks and been extremly rude on the phone when contacted to settle the matters. Please let me know if they solved your problems or I will also consider getting trading standards involved.

This company needs to be held accountable and stop lying and cheating people out of there hard earned money. They say they have forests in china and africa. Wot aload of twaddle. They are selling ex MFI stock Its a joke. The kitchen was so bad that they delivered I told the delivery driver to take it away and not come back. It was not even the kitchen i had bought. They sent me a cheap laminate replacement as they said the one i had bought was now sold out. I had spent 2000 quid on tiles and paint to match the original kitchen. The one they decided to send did not match at all. All the doors and sides were damaged and a complete miss match. This company is company should be made to cease trading immediately!!!!!!!!!!!!!

[28/09/2011] des: I have also just paid £100 and having read the back of the design sheet, have found it non refundable I am gutted, but as I do not pay anymore until the kitchen arrives this is my plan. If any parts are missing, damaged or not correct I will not pay the remainder of the kitchen price until all parts are on site,checked and are fit for use. Does anyone see any legal problems with this.

[26/10/2011] paula mann: they go by the name of kitchenunits in scotland.. i have been well and truly ripped off by this company. doors missing, different doors and no wrong fridge and freezer. two guys have been and they said they would rectify things but to no avail. they dont answer phone and when they do leave you hanging on for twenty minutes and then hang up. have lost £1600 and feel sooo stupid for being conned. how can these people sleep in their beds at night knowing they have ripped people off. Am going to try consumer rights next then which magazine.
[17/12/2011] John Robles: We had a kitchen completed not to our requested standard on 23/12/2008,things that were wrong are really too numerous to go into now.I have just been prompted to add another comment about this Cowboy company 'Carringtons' after my wife has just told me 7 days before Christmas day that her electric oven supplied and fitted by Carringtons (Make - Beaumatic) has just packed up.We are amazed they are still in business, they need shutting down as they have no respect for their customers when things go wrong, and their staff often sub contracters such as tilers are often not paid what they have been promised who in turn will then try to ask you for the short fall even although you have paid Carringtons in full. The next customer who get stung really need to get the Media involved as Trading Standards who have known about them for years are either not very interested or do not have the muscle or teeth to tackle them in the way they deserve!

[12/07/2011] sharon: Donna, please please, please dont part with any more cash if you loose £30 it will be the best £30 you have spent, I have part of a kitchen in my garage, found out just in time and was able to stop my cheque, they are threatening to take me to court even though I have told them to come and collect their goods as I dont want them, well I say bring it on, I would love to go to court to show the judge what a samming com-pany they are, they trade under all different names but are all the same comany CANCEL, CANCEL, CANCEl and if they turn up with the delivery send them away and dont part with your cash, its cheap for a reason. Lesley once again friendly and helpful, cancel with out delay , I told them that i couldn't take the chance of buying a kitchen from this company . Must go some where else , these kitchen we're too good to be true , but must I feel so sorry that all these poor people that have had these troubles with this company , we have got out easy and only lost deposit of 100.00 , thank you to all , beacuse if i didn't have read all your comments we would have been added to this list . And what goes around with this company comes around.

[15/08/2011] clovell: I recently received a kitchen from Uber kitchens or future kitchens or maple mill whatever you want to call them. By all accounts and from reading comments on the internet, I have been very lucky and received the majority of my kitchen. Once my joiner began work, he quickly came to realise that kitchen had been designed wrong. It seems that the designer had simply measured the walls and then drew some cupboards on the plan without taking into consideration that I wanted the oven in the middle of the worktop (who wouldn't?!). This meant that I have ended up with 4 500mm bridging units when in fact I need 2 400 cupboards. I then attempted to call the company but the number on my plan had been disconnected. However, after a long search of the internet I found a new number and discovered they had changed their name to Uber Kitchens (was Future kitchens when I purchased). This led me to the conclusion that once a 'batch' of orders has been completed, they change their name and number. Anyway, they said delivery would be upto 20 working days. I explained that my joiner could not continue without these two cupboards and I have a young child in the house. They werent bothered so I went to B&Q and purchased the carcasses. However, they agreed to send me 2 x400mm doors to match. They did not arrive so I rang again. The woman named SARAH told me to stop asking 'stupid questions' when I asked when my goods were delivered. She then proceeded to tell her colleagues "I am sick of this woman and can't speak to her for much longer". I remained calm and asked her to find out when my delivery would be. She put me on hold and after 10 minutes just cut me off. This continued to happen each time I called...also it takes about 45 minutes to get through to anyone and soooo frustrating when they just put the phone down on you!!! However, I received the doors BUT one had a huge line down it and looked terrible!! I then went to the mill in Oldham myself and again remained calm (Sarah from earlier did not act like this to my face!). She promised I would receive the door the following Saturday and quite naively I believed her...it hasn't arrived! The so called customer services employees are the most rudest and disgusting people I have ever encountered and no wonder it is cash on delivery cos they are a con!!
My oven has also just packed in after one week of use, but luckily my husband has managed to fix the thermostat. Otherwise, this company wanted to take the oven away and said they would send one once it had been checked, I DONT THINK SO, I don't trust them one little bit!!
Please do be wary when using this company. They are extremely cheap and my kitchen does look fantastic ( I say this begrudgingly). However, please check your design and check each box (inside as well to check for blemishes) before the driver leaves - they do try to leave pretty quickly but I was ready with a tick list of what should be delivered

[25/08/2011] Debbie Bland: Since my last comment on Kitchens Uber etc, I have since found out that they all belong to VANCE MILLER who went to court in 2006 but got away with it because the guy who took him to court (from the council I believe) didn't have enough evidence and it was thrown out of court. 5 Million pounds was used of the tax payers money and wasted. [03/09/2011] Gio: If only I had not been in such a rush to get a kitchen.... I have got a kitchen, if you can call it that from these people. It was deliverd with no holes drilled and a missing corner unit. The customer services are a joke the two numbers on the website are rarely reachable and when they are the people get annoyed and tell you to call the custmer services number.
When calling them you get the sulkiest person they could find who does not want to help in any way.
I will be making a claim myself as have not heard anything about my missing corner unit.

By looking at the comments above now i have realised these fuking scumbags are dodgy . The person who came to take measurements of my kitchen was a 6ft indian dark face bastard. He drove a black BMW 5 series with a private number plate. I try ringing customer serice but they are also selfish and arrogant. I think we should gather up and head to oldham and ge our missing kitchen parts back.

I too have been stung by this company.Same problems as everybody else, my kitchen is supposed to be complete but have the following issues, leaking sink, wrong cooker hood and oven, sink not fitted in properly, deeply scratched doors, cornices & kick boards not installed but still in my garage, cupboards and handles at different heights,worktops have been damaged and colour filled badly, wall cupboards un secure on wall, bottom of one has already come apart (thats with nothing in them too) and the shelves slid out narrowly missing my 5 year old, chipped shelving, drawers sticking, screws sticking out, nothing is sealed,no pressure in my taps, wrong tap. Very messy fitters with nothing being there fault.Paid out extras for what they needed as wanted the job finished. Waiting for a surveyor but not holding out any hope.Total mess and just want it all ripped out and my money back. Will be taking this forward to trading standards, The Ferret, Dominic Littlewood and through the courts. In the meantime i will call Ian White and see if he's as rude as everyone else from that company....someone got to stop them!!
[11/09/2011] tom olner: yes its now sept 11th 2011 and we are too late with our kitchen we have had problems right from the very start, sent wrong work tops carcases dit not fit together securely because of poor fittings and missing glass doors and 1000 wall units and bridging unit for cooker hood numerous bits missing.
We have had to use plastic blocks to secure units together this is a good story for not just trading standards but also for watchdog!
We are still waiting parts supposed to be delivered soon on the 13th 0r 14th sept lets wait and see shall we?
[12/09/2011] Sally: Dont hold your breath on getting anything from this company as my surveyor never materialised and tried to call the number today only to find out that this service is no longer available. I have been to my local trading standards today and they are looking into them but it looks like they have disappeared just like always. No doubt they will be back up and running under a different name very shortly never to be stopped and to catch more innocent people out.

Am sooo relieved to read your comments as I thought I was slowly going mad! We ordered a kitchen from Future Kitchens / Simply Kitchens in April 2011 and are still awaiting parts from them as items were either broken or wrong colour. We have had the same experiences as you all above when trying to contact them even down to them calling my husband moody etc... We waited for a months for a surveyor to come and see us - who never materialized. We have started court proceedings against them but surprisingly we had a delivery turn up at our house at 8pm last night with kitchen bits but again some missing and the wrong colour -- aaaaargh!! Even the delivery driver couldn't understand why he had been sent out to us in KENT!! We have managed to get another address from driver Maple Mill, Cardwell Street, Oldham OL8 which we are going to pass onto Money Claims but we have to pay £45 for the privilege of a judge looking at it again due to name change and deciding if they will proceed against them - so i just feel as though we are being shafted at every angle for being good customers....

Firstly I would like to begin by telling you that I would like to phone this complaint in but it will be even more hassle on top of the huge list ive already encountered with your company. I booked a kitchen designer visit in which the first time didnt turn up so I called back and booked another in which a man arrived who seemed to do everything fine. I ordered a kitchen in August which was due to be delivered on the 3rd September but it didnt arrive untill the 10th of september, after me calling and having terrible customer service were i was hung up on and cut off and left on hold for almost half an hour several times. It arrived missing various different parts which were later sent up by courier. This would have been fine but when my joiner started to look at the plans he soon realised the measurements were wrong in many parts, the gaps left for my appliances werent big enough and the design had doors that couldnt open, drawers which were in corners hitting cupboard handles and so on, also there was not enough work top. I called back to order my extra work top to be on hold for twenty five minutes twice spoke to one person and put back on hold then cut off, eventually i spoke to somene who said 'well you want me to send up another half length' he could not give me a specific time of arrival and i still havent received it. My joiner has managed to move a couple of things about and done the best he can with what we had but i now have an extra cupbard which i cannot use as it doesnt fit with the others and would look silly alone so i only have four upper units instead of five, the kitchen and service you provide is not what I hoped for or expected. I want to arrange for this unit to be collected and my money back but like i said i dont want to receive the terrible customer service over the phone again therfore I hope you can get back to me.

[02/12/2011] Charlotte : He has links to VANCE MILLER - he runs the China side of the business for KITCHEN UNITS who have just ripped me off for £1000 also linked to - SIMPLE KITCHENS - KITCHEN FACTORY - my story in a smallish nutshell ! All the info below has been going on since Oct 2011 - Bought kitchen, sales rep all seemed fine etc, delivered all fine,£1000 gone ! when it came to putting it together, units didn't line up, screw holes not matching, screws kept breaking, parts backs etc didn't fit, had marks/scuff, gaping holes and generally just crap ! Phoned sales rep, he came round and agreed it was crap, said call customer services - after dozens of calls, being put on hold, cut off after a 30 / 47 minute on hold !, called / chased/ hounded rep, they ended up sending surveyor round who again agreed said a refund would be sorted, (quoted Sales of goods act, etc at them all) then week later had a call from "Becky" stating that no refund as hadnt had a chance to rectify problem, my only choice was another kitchen ! By this time (late November) I had borrowed money on c'card and brought one from magnet ! Said OK and asked for another to be delivered - delivery came he wouldnt wait and let us check it the delivery driver (think he was from the co.) got the office on the phone straight away (funny that !) they said he couldnt wait ! with that he went ! Not holding my breath

[15/03/2012] Rachel: We booked a kitchen with them yesterday. The man who came gave us a very good price and I liked what I saw however, we did worry slightly when he followed my partner to the bank for the deposit!
We found out today that our Landlord has changed his mind and doesnt want us to go ahead. Thankfully, he is giving us our £100 back himself. Ive been told Fiona is away till Tuesday but I have a correct email address for her and have cancelled that way and also sent back the cancellation paperwork recorded delivery. I rang them this evening and the man who answered was actually helpful although didnt want to admit who he was.
I say: WELL RID after reading all these comments and Im so sorry its happened to so many of you ! They need closing down by the sound of it.

Our missing parts weren't delivered last Thursday so I again contacted Customer Services who promised delivered yestered 6.3.13. Surprise! Surprise! no delivery. My partner contacted them that evenine to be promised the delivery would now be by Courier 7-10 days. Let's see what happens! I don't believe them. Looks like I will be contacting Trading Standards, Watchdog, Dom, whoever I can to help stop these scumbags. [19/04/2013] Affordable kitchens: I have just been 1 of the very stupid people to but a kitchen of these dirt bags, getting rich by ripping people of.over £3000 grand later they tried shouting at me on the phone fitters not turning p and when they did leaving with sink leaking not sealing work tops cutting corners on work that should be done, the list is endless scratched doors ect, safe to say. Have been on to trading standards and they r now dealing with my case even tho the work. Needed has been rectified still absolutely crap kitchen that I am now looking at replacing. I have herd that the operation is run by rouge trader vance miller but is running in the name of a guy called chris so people just please beware these use to also go by the ame of wow kitchens along with a list of others .

These a cash or bankers draft people also trade as "kitchen Units" Rochdale under the same Martin Sersen. KU (Kitchens Uber) and KU (Kitchen Units) and goodness knows how many other akas are the same outfit. Vince Miller has been on Channel 4 and sources his crap from China. Unfortunately, his offenses are civil and he is backed by good lawyers so it would cost a fortunate to take him on in court. However, as your claim value is £1500 then you could try the small claims court and good luck. My opinion that the Trading Standers will not take him on is a disgrace. My advise it to find as mush complaints about this scumbag on the net and print them out and sent them to Trading Standards and demand they do their job by taking his to the criminal courts because he is actually breaking the law. [27/01/2013] Helen: Just to let people know before they sign on the dotted line read just below and it states that when the idiot designer measures up for your kitchen you should go round and do the measurements yourself just to confirm the designer is an idiot. This is so when the kitchen is delivered and it does not fit you are held responsible not the designer. Also they tell you on the back of your design form that if it is wood then there will be variations in the colour, the fact that the colouring is completely wrong is also your fault, missing items must also be your fault, sending an oven housing instead of a boiler housing this must be my fault, a larder unit sent without the side panels is also my fault, the top drawer of a unit being the wrong size is also my fault, not enough granite ordered cost me an extra £60.00 is also my fault, the granite not being treated costing me another £30.00 also my fault. I could go on and on but basically this is giving you an idea of the sort of company this is. When told your kitchen will only take 3 days to complete from start to finish and ending up being over a week and having to do work on it yourself when you have already paid for it to be done by tradesmen. What is your answer to this Mr. Sersen, you@ve had our hard earned cash and basically don't give a damn, this is how it would appear.

A family member has ordered a kitchen from your ' company' and has been insulted by drivers, spent hours on the phone to your so called 'customer services' who are rude ignorant and most of all incompetent. They recieved the kitchen which had missing parts left right and centre mismatched panels. They were told by your 'customer services' that it is impossible to get all units to match, what a load of crap it is possible and extremely easy to get white glossed units and no need to send some white and some cream duh! Eventually replacement parts were reluctantly sent and arrived but guess what they were wrong. What should have been a 4/5 day job has so far dragged on for 3 weeks and judging by the comments and complaints on here this is how your company does business, have you ever heard of he sale of goods act? Distance selling regulations? Trading standards? And basically customer service, no wonder people are taking legal action and they probably won't be th last. This all sounds like a scam and trading standards and the courts shoul take swift and severe action for all the problems your company has caused

I am taking the case through the County Court as I am determined to get my money back. I also wish to carry on until I see a result with this as I do not want others to go through this awful experience.
The company will not respond so taking out a claim in the Court was the only way forward. I am happy to speak to others about this situation.

I've paid £1300 for a kitchen and am 2 doors and 2 draws missing ,And have one door not needed.I was quoted £300 cheaper than my next cheapest quote so in my mind i still have that to play with. I think i can just about muddle through and make what i have got work, But I've got to do that because I cant get hold of anyone to solve my problem.
So what everybody says on here is correct.
1/ The salesman comes round and at the speed of light works out your kitchen and tells you he needs a cash deposit.
2/ The delivery driver turns up. drops the kitchen off as quick as he can so you don't get a chance to check it.Takes the cash and goes.
3/Find out you have parts missing.contact the company under one of it's many different names and then ...read most of the above comments they are all spot on.
Like i said im only missing a couple of doors and i think i can muddle by, L will ditch the tap. The office staff/salesman etc are all in on it with all of them trying to palm you off.
At the end of the day "you pay cheap you get cheap" that includes parts and service!
Just dont do it!!!! go and B n Q it!

It was cheaper than anything else we could find and as far as I'm concerned our kitchen is far better than expected. We didn't have any missing parts and everything worked perfectly and all our dealings with the company were completely fine too. The company was great in our opinion, deliveries on time, good customer service and best of all, an exceptional quality kitchen at a ridiculously low price. We also didn't have to pay a single penny for our new kitchen until all of the parts had been delivered and our kitchen fitter could go over the delivery and check everything was there. Great kitchen, even better company. Will always recommend.

Cheap Chinese kitchen components ,no predrilled holes for doors ect , no instructions for draw runner height even when asking there so called customer service , do not reply to emails , work tops that where bent and unusable , had to purchase new one , sink waste supplied with sink leaked from the welded joints , end panels different colours than the doors , could go on and on
Beware of these so called kitchens that seem a good deal , but underneath are cheap and nasty and will cost you more in a decent kitchen fitter trying to make a pigs ear in to a silk purse
You have been warned , this is the worst kitchen that I have ever fitted , and I have fit cheap trade kitchen that are miles better quality
These are that bad I think they fall in the not fit for purpose bracket
As any kitchen should be able to be fit by a good DIY er
They stand no chance with these
Iike my parents fell in the trap of these con men , do not buy or you will regret
