Claim title: Pro Action Diet Cancel and RMA Request

[19/01/2012] Lucy: How did you stop these people from taking your payments. What name did payments come out under? Sadly I ordered a free sample days ago then noticed this website now I'm petrified I'm not gonna be able to cancel them

Claim title: Pro Health & Nutrascience Charges

[01/02/2012] Gail: I too have answered the advert for a 'free' trial of pro cleanse. They send you 30 which, if you take 2 a day as directed, is a 15 day supply. When I cancelled they wanted all 30 capsules back which I couldn't give them as I had trialed the product. They charged me £18.75 for the priviledge and was told rather snottily to read the T&C's. My argument is that you can't have a free trial unless you take the capsules. If you take the capsules you can't send them back and you are charged. So where precisely is the free trial? My advice to anyone is to keep trying to contact them to cancel, Monday to Friday 9 -5. Or email support@nutrasciencediet.com or support@proactiondiet.com. If we all stick together on this one we might force them into a) cancelling and b) refunding money. Also contact your local trading standards. I'm a tough old bird and I am so sad to read some of the posts on here so I will fight not just for me but for everyone. Who's with me?

Claim title: Trying To Cancel 14 day Trial with no success

[20/01/2012] Donna: Try these email addresses: support@proactiondiet.com; support@nutrascience.com

[14/06/2012] Charlotte: I ordered some slimming tablets to see what my friends were on about at school. I ordered them and realised it was £2.50 for the postage for the two sets of tablets, so that was £5 in postage. I take them for the first few days literally and decide I don't like them because I can't handle them. I didn't like how big they were so I just left them in my draw- thinking they weren't going to cost me £37.50! My mum asks me to show her the tablets because she knows I haven't been taking them because I don't like big tablets. She looks, and it says I will be receiving a bill of £37.50 every 30 days. I don't want that at all- I just want to cancel my account or whatever, and send everything back because I don't want them or the bill.

[14/07/2012] steven deveau: ive tryed to get hold of someone to talk with from nutra science it seems you are unable to cancel your order and they will take 75,00 per month from your account its a total scam

We also work closely with Trading Standards to ensure they are happy with the way the offer is promoted and to ensure the terms for this offer are not misleading but I do appreciate that if you don't read them and just assume it's a free trial (even though we don't describe it as this) then yes, payment for the products you have received will come as a shock.

We are sorry to inform you that we are unable to offer you a refund for the trial products, however we can assure you that we have canceled your membership to our auto-ship program so you will not be sent any more products in the future and we will never charge your card again.

If you require further assistance, please respond to this email, ensuring the ticket number is left in the subject line.

Many Thanks,

[25/01/2012] caroline: double check with your bank that they can't take money out. Mine said I couldn't stop the money going out as it was a card payment. I have cancelled but at the moment have no money, they made me go overdrawn and doesn't appear to be any chance of getting my money back. the fact that i have cancelled and have emails that i sent the bank says will help me if they take more money. however I will have to inform the bank so they can claim the money back

[26/01/2012] Zoe: Hi Caroline
Thanks for your response. My bank was really good and when I explained it was a scam they said to cancel my debit card and get a new one this would stop them taking any more money.. so I did that as fortunately I realised this was a scam just after I did the "free trial" thing so acted immediately - only the postage had gone out.. did you return the products?

I'm so mad with this place as there terms were not clear!

[05/06/2012] Jen: Hi, I read yor comment on here about the scam.
I ordered both the free trial that nutrascience are running and them came across this!! Did your bank cancel your card and stop payments from going out?
I have just phoned my bank and they said the can't do anything until a payment has been seen to go out of my account... will that be too late??

Claim title: Recurring Transaction

[02/08/2012] milly210: I have just payed the money for the free trial and now to find all these comments I am worried a lot . I have emailed them and got an automatic reply saying I need to have the ticket number ready for replys and that they will reply within 72hours

[31/08/2012] Hannahbowgen: IM be ripped of by Nutrascience who said that i could purchase a trial weight lose pill priced at £2.49 with no commitment at all now i getting billed for for £37.50 and i keep getting the pills which i did not ask for it commitment and can u please help me sort things out

[23/01/2012] Suzi: Can you cancel your debit card and then next time they try and take a payment it will be rejected?

[25/01/2012] Evelyn: I RECEIVED AN EMAIL ABOUT NUTRASCIENCE AND DECIDED TO GIVE IT A TRY. THEY ONLY ASKED FOR £2.99 FOR EACH OF THE 2 PRODUCTS. I DID NOT SEE ANYTHING TO SAY YOU HAD TO CANCEL WITHIN 14 DAYS. ON THE 14TH DECEMBER, 11 I WAS CHARGED £75.00. THAT WAS FOLLOWED BY ANOTHER CHARGE OF £75.00 AFTER A SECOND BATCH OF THIS STUFF ARRIVED.
I PHONED ONLY TO BE TOLD THAT I HAD NOT CANCELLED MY FIRST ORDER. I SAID I DID NOT KNOW I HAD TO. I TOLD THE LADY TO CANCEL AND NOT SEND ANY MORE.
ANOTHER BATCH HAS ARRIVED YESTERDAY AND ON LOOKING AT MY CREDIT CHARGE I HAVE BEEN CHARGED A TOTAL OF £229.50. I NOW HAVE 3 UNOPENED BATCHES OF THIS PRODUCT AS I HAVE BEEN PRESCRIBED VERY STRONG MEDICATION AND AM AFRAID IT WILL CONFLICT. I HAVE TRIED PHONING THEIR NUMBER WHICH SOUNDS AMERICAN BUT THEN A LOT OF THESE SCAMS HAVE PEOPLE WITH THIS KIND OF ACCENT. THERE IS JUST A SILLY RECORDING MACHINE IN OPERATION OFFERING A DISCOUNT ON FUTURE ORDERS.
I HAVE CONTACTED MY CREDIT CARD PROVIDER WHO ARE AWARE OF THIS SCAM BUT THEY CANNOT DO ANYTHING TO STOP FUTURE PAYMENTS BEING TAKEN OUT AS I GAVE MY CREDIT CARD NO. TO THIS PERSON IN THE FIRST PLACE. THEY SUGGEST EMAILING THEM ASKING THAT NO FURTHER PRODUCTS BE SENT AND ASK FOR A REFUND. IF THEY DO NOT RESPOND I AM TO SEND A COPY OF THE EMAIL AND A SEPARATE LETTER WITH THE TRANSACTION DETAILS TAKEN FROM MY CREDIT CARD TO MY CREDIT CARD PROVIDER.
I AM 75 YEARS OLD AND DISABLED AND HAVE TOLD NUTRASCIENCE THAT IN MY EMAIL BUT I HAVE A FEELING IT WILL NOT MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE.
MY HUSBAND HAS SUGGESTED I CANCEL MY CREDIT CARD BUT THEN I AM AFRAID TO DO THIS RIGHT AWAY AS THEY MIGHT (NOT) CREDIT THIS MONEY BACK.
I HAVE ALSO TOLD THEM I WILL CONTACT TRADING STANDARDS ABOUT THIS SCAM. I WILL POST AGAIN IF I GET ANY FURTHER INFORMATION.
WHAT I DO NOT UNDERSTAND IS THAT I HAVE ONLY RECEIVED 3 LOTS OF THIS PRODUCT. THE FIRST ONE WAS ONLY TO BE CHARGED AT £2.99 EACH FOR THE 2 ITEMS BUT I HAVE BEEN CHARGED THE FULL AMOUNT FOR THE 3 LOTS I HAVE RECEIVED.

[10/02/2012] MissV: I got sucked in to this too and they have taken £200 from me, I think I'm screwed on the first payment but hoping to get a refund for the second by return the items unused, you need to return within 30 days of them dispatching though, there is an email address on their website, they did reply within 24 hours with return address etc. Feel a right idiot, should have known it was a scam, never imagined they would take so much money from me!! I cancelled my card to stop any further payments, you could also report it stolen if they are not co-operative!! Maybe try selling on ebay for anything you can't return, recoup some of the money. Good luck!!

[19/02/2012] Nietskaya: I was scammed in the same way everyone else was. I returned the product recorded delivery and demanded a refund. They tried to tell e I had signed and agreed to 'clearly displayed' terms and conditions. I said that it wasn't 'clearly displayed' and that as they had the product back I would take them to court if they didn't refund in full. I received my refund 2 days later
Please share this information
The return address is on the website but its not easy to find. If you have the delivery order note it will be on there also.
I hope this helps

[12/03/2012] GeorgieB: This company sent and charged me for more products after I cancelled. Due to their mistake they sent me a pre-paid envelope with a different returns address on it. I feel I should share this info with other people because this company is disgusting.

Pure Slim
Unit 2 Watchmoor Trade Centre
Watchmoor Road
Camberley
GU15 3AJ

After Googling "Pure Slim Camberley" this telephone number comes up: 01276 682013. I don't know how old it is and I've not had the need to phone them, but for anyone out there it might be worth a go.

[15/03/2012] Amanda: I saw the advert for NUTRASCIENCE the free trial and thought i would give it ago. to discover that £75 pounds has been taken from my account. i have had no emails to say the 14 days was up or that they would be taking the payment on that date. as i would of cancelled straight away.

i was 3 days over the 14 and have been told i was charged the £75. I rang to be told it was my fault. and in fact its not a free trail at all as the items you receive cost £75.

[20/04/2012] alison marsh: Just wanted to comment on Nutrascience the free trial. I sent for the free trial on the 5th April 2012. Because i was waiting for my new bank card to come my best friend offered to pay for the postage which was £4.98 for the 2 trails. Today she came round and told me that £112.50had been take out her account from Nutrascience. I found the leaflets that came with the tablets and got a telephone number which we rang and got through to somebody. They tried to say that the 14 days(by 1day)had gone and the money would not be returned. We had some heated words and they finally said they would but £75 back into my friends account. My friend has cancelled her card and we are waiting to see if they keep their word. The phone number is for the customer services 08447451722. Hope this is helpful to you all.

[11/06/2012] Deb: I have cancelled a day before the 14 day trial and sent back what I haven't used so all within their terms and conditions.Have also informed my credit card company not to let them take any more money as I have not authorised it. So we will wait and see what happens... watch this space.

[08/06/2012] natalie: I have just had money taken from my bank from these thieves amd i phoned my bank up and told them i did not authorize the money to come out. They are now starting a fraud investigation on the company and are paying the money back into my account. Cancelle the card that you gave for the postage and packing and they will no longer be able to take the money from your account.

[06/05/2012] Lisa C: omg I have just discovered this scam on my bank account. i have cancelled my card and will be reporting this to the fraud office at the bank. has anyone received a refund and if so can you tell me how you went about it. my husband is on long term sick and i cannot afford to lose this money - shame on Womens health magazine for promoting this product. please please can anyone help me????

[01/06/2012] Gj Pearson: Totally agree with you

[23/05/2012] sue davies: I am starting a facebook group just "Nutrascience/ Proaction has stolen off us!!!!!" join today lets get more added to this group I am very annoyed about this as I have had £239 taken from my account

[23/05/2012] Sam: This NutraScience company are not only thieves but also their pills damages your health, my friend has a liver problem now, and his doctor told him to stop taking that MaxTrim crap. But as my friend said he trusted the gaurdian, bbc who had an advert on their site!? So now who should we complain against the bbc, the gardian or NutraScience. When would the hypocrites stop ripping British people especially in this hard time where the country is going into double res-session and probably into depression! And the worst thing about the system that the poor innocent people who where ripped by those greedy firms would be black listed for being ripped!
My friend had the same complain as the rest said in addition the terms and conditions at the time he bought the product where not displayed but now it exist before few days! I know no one will get their money back because the system is designed to rip people in a deviated way. The wort unethical and anti humane act is to take advantage of desperate people who needs solution for their problems, this is exactly raping. I know by now this nurtaScience had made millions so it would be easy for them to shot judges mouth in this country, or what nutrascience can do is to claim they are bank ropped,

As if CAV will do anything hehehe.
Stop being greedy and stop ripping innocent people for the sake of greedy bankers and firms and corrupted companies.

[25/06/2012] Dr. Michael Martin-Smith, retired GP: My partner suffered a similar experience on June 6 when she was milked of £75 +£37.50 in the same way. The Pills, of course were junk! She was advised by her Bank to email Nutrascience- using the contact info from her order- to demand her money back. Being less than 28 days since her deal, they are obliged and according to her Bank, Santander, likely to do this to avoid jeopardising their own operation. Apparently they keep the interest accrued by this fraudulent cash, and, if challenged, merely refund the original but keep the Interest

BOTTOM LINE- do not buy ANY cheap pills on line- especially slimming Pills, as NO slimming tablets actually work without eventual weight increase!

[09/07/2012] Maxine: Please tell your story to watchdog online. Maybe if we all do that Watchdog will take up our plight to stop these fraudulent companies.

[24/07/2012] CATHERINE: This also happend to me and something needs to be done about this company as I believe that they are scamming people with a product that does not work.

Claim title: Stolen money

[22/05/2012] Andrew Cooper: Signed up to a free trial of diet pills as advertised online, 'nutrascience' and 'pro action cleanse', each costing £2.49 for a 30 day supply. On purchase, there where no terms and conditions to accept, i genuinely thought i had bought for the trial period only. I have now, 2 weeks after making the purchases have had £75 taken out of my account from nutrascience and £37.50 taken by pro action cleanse. I have had to cancel my card to stop them taking further payments. I gave no authority for this and this is essentially theft!

THE ONLY WAY I CAN SEE TO AVOID FURTHER MONEY LOSS IS TO CANCEL THE SOURCE OF WHERE THEY ARE GETTING THEIR MONEY FROM YOU, I.E. YOUR BANK OR CREDIT CARD COMPANY.

Claim title: Charged £75 for free trial

[30/01/2012] Roxanne: How do we stop them? How can I stop the money coming out my account, ive just bought these tablets and seen all these comments.

[01/02/2012] Gail: Ho Roxanne, call your bank and get them to cancel your debit/credit card and then order a new one. That should stop them taking money out. If you've only just bought the products email them straight away and phone them tomorrow between 9 and 5. Their email addresses are support@nutrasciencediet.com and support@proactiondiet.com. Then contact your local Trading Standards. We all get caught off guard at times and theat's when these scammers get us.

[20/05/2012] Maria: Hi Paula, I've just ordered them too and had the same bad feeling so I checked it out. I have responded to both of their emails confirming the order for both products to say I wish to cancel the order and the free trails. I received an automated repsonse saying they will respond within 72 hours. I've also cancelled my credit card but they said that now they have my details they can keep charging my new card!!! I will call the number again tomorrow during office hours to see if I can get through to a representative. The phone does give you an automated message of accepting the charge of £75 and also another option of returning the item with no further charges. I am going to listen to them again though as it is a crackled amercian voice speaking quickly so I'm not sure if both options are a further scam! Will see if I can speak to someone tomorrow first before I select any automated messages. How is the company still running, unbeliveable that trading standards haven't closed them down by now!!! Let me know how you get on and I will add some more notes if I have any news. Maria

[20/05/2012] Paula: I've tried both of these email addresses and they aren't recognised. I just ordered these products, had an immediate bad feeling, checked some websites and found out my gut feeling is right. I'm scared now too that money will be taken and I won't be able to stop it.

[20/05/2012] Paula: Hi Maria,

I've NEVER fall for anything before in my life and so the fact that I've done so makes me so annoyed but of course more than that very worried reading all these posts. Thank god we have the net to help us. I haven't tried calling them yet (and reading what people have to say I wonder if it's worth bothering). I also wonder why you got an email response at all as when I tried both addresses they weren't recognised and didn't even leave my outbox!!! So tomorrow I will contact my bank and see what they can do. It seems that the outcome varies depending on the bank. I'm thinking though that we should put pressure on the banks as the scam 'company' :/ most likely live at some house in deepest darkest africa, india, america, UK..................who knows???? and we aren't likely to get any joy through that route. I'm gonna fight for this though as it's totally wrong. Good luck and let me know how it goes as we are fresh to this. By the way did you click on the link through facebook? Take care, try not to worry and let's keep in contact. I get the feeling they have different ways of dealing with 'customers' that's why everyone has a different story outcome :?

Paula

[21/05/2012] Paula: Hi again Maria,

I slept really badly last night worrying about this. Anyway.........I called the contact number and followed the automated options for cancellation.

Option 1 is that you cancel any further shipments but keep the batch they've already sent (which doesn't even apply as I haven't received mine yet and wanted to cancel before dispatchment. Of course they don't want us to do that as then they'd never make any money). You'd then be billed £75 for keeping these pills. Now we know that it shouldn't have cost us anything more than shipping costs but they want to make money.

Option 2 is to cancel all orders and return the batch you've received within 21 days. You'd then be liable for paying for postage.

Now I know someone has recommended sending the pills by registered post. This is important as we need to make sure they sign for the parcel and are unable to claim we didn't send them back. However from what I can tell this will make not a jot of a difference as they are operating outside of legal boundaries anyway and will do whatever they like. I also tried talking to a representative but was just put on hold. I wasn't prepared to hold too long as I doubt there's anyone there to answer the call and it was probably costing me a fortune.

What's strange (though already I'm not surprised) is that the lady speaking on the automated message when you initally call is an American but when you switch through to a rep the lady has a British accent. Also they talk about shipping costs when the products are coming from Sheffield (a PO Box address!!!!!!!). We'd normally talk about postage and packing costs if they're being sent within the UK. Small point maybe but it's just all too suspicious.

My next course of action is to cancel my credit card...............if that's possible and will cut them dead.

Paula

[21/05/2012] Paula: Does anyone have an email address that actually works? I want to send an email stating that I wish to cancel. They're preventing us from having any contact so that we're forced into a corner.

[21/05/2012] Paula: While typing all the above I received emails saying my order was on it's way. I replied saying that I wished to cancel but again they're blocking any return emails :/

[28/05/2012] Claire: Hi all, im also in the same situation as you's, trying to get my money back & trying to get a returns number so i can send their unopened product back. The name of the guy i spoke to was Lee Nicolas using this email address support@nutrasciencediet.com. They have cancelled my subscription (or so they say) but i want to return the product as i havent used it & surely your consumer rights are being breached here somewhere. Anyway im going to keep emailing them until i get an outcome. keep you's informed. Claire

[21/05/2012] Paula: Hi Barry,

I ordered these pills yesterday and as soon as I hit the send button I wished I hadn't. My gut feeling was right and straight away I tried cancelling my order. I've tried all ways of getting in touch but of course we can't do so as that way they'd make no money. I've now received an email saying the order has been shipped. I should of course have had a chance to cancel before shipment commenced. I'm going to do as you suggested. Send it back with a demand for refund. I may just tell them there and then that if they don't I'll start legal proceedings. My brother in law's a lawyer so he can dash off a letter if needs be but I don't want to have to reveal my stupidity to my family :/. The other concern is that they'll even take any notice as they are operating outside of legal boundaries anyway. From what I've read on this website you're one of the lucky few. Maybe the demand for refund is the key-I'll have to wait and see!!!!

Where did you track down the address from? It's possible they've closed this address by now anyway!!

Cheers

Paula

It was very hard to find the company details but I found them by visiting similar websites /like this one/.
First thing I did was to call the bank in order to stop the direct debits from my credit card - it was really hard because the bank says "you subscribed". I insisted and begged to the bottom of my dignity, including saying that "I choose your bank because I thought I can rely on you on such issues and this is why I am banking with you, and you should be there to help me etc. etc." So they did stop the direct debits.
Next was to send a number of letters to the company to cancel my subscribtion - some of them not quite kind to be honest.
But it worked - they only managed to charge me twice.
From then on I put every "free sample" offer on Google - and most of them turn to be scams.
As we say - nothing is free in this life - only the cheese in the mouse-trap.
Act quickly otherwise it may cost you a fortune.

Good luck!

[25/06/2012] Michael Martin-Smith: To Linda Boxer, I am sorry to tell you that NO slimming tablets actually work, except as a quickfix, followed by rebound weight gain. Nutrascience is known junk. If all else fails, you could cancel your credit card, tear it up, and try for a new account. Quite a hassle, but might get you off the hook.
Failing that, try Mossad! They can be very effective...

Claim title: FINALLY FOUND NUMBER

[01/08/2012] Ken Forey : You are unlikely to get the money back from this company, I have tried, The small print is clear and sadly I failed to read it. BUT please please make others aware use as many media sites as possible use Facebook etc and make sure the power of our comments go round the world. Hopefully no other person will be duped by this company. Put comments on there Facebook page daily but tell the truth read the small print If you speak the truth they can't say anything also target places where they advertise Amazon UK if enough people complain Amazon won't sell product Thanks Fight for your rights

[31/07/2012] Ken Forey: This was a reply I had from a

to me
Dear Customer,
Thanks for your email. The £75.00 and £37.50 taken from your account on 20/7/2012 is the payment for the trial MAXtrim, TARGETslim and Pro Cleanse bottles you have ordered on 5/7/2012 and received.

This was done because the offer you signed up for with us was to try our products for 14 days before you are required to pay for them. This means you paid the postage and packaging at the time of ordering and we sent you a full month’s supply of each product.

If you did not wish to pay for these after the trial period you were required to cancel the subscription and request a returns number from us in the first 14 days. As we have not previously heard from you, we could only assume that you were happy to keep the products and pay for them.

These terms are fully explained on the order page and also in the leaflet that you received with your order.

They state: By placing your order today you'll be shipped a 30 day supply of MAXtrim and a 30 day supply of TARGETslim and a 30 day supply of Pro Cleanse (you just pay P&P). If you feel MAXtrim, TARGETslim and Pro Cleanse are not for you, cancel within 14 days from your initial order date to avoid the purchase fee of £37.50 per item and enrolment in the auto-shipment program, which sends you a bottle of MAXtrim, TARGETslim and a bottle of Pro Cleanse every 30 days starting 30 days after your trial period starts, at the low price of £37.50 per item. By ordering you agree to the full terms and conditions shown here. To cancel any time call 0844 745 1722.

We have now cancelled your membership to our auto-ship program so you will not be sent any more products in the future and we will never charge your card again.

We are however unable to offer you a refund on the products you have already received as you did not cancel your subscription or request a RMA number in the first 14 days. This is all in accordance with the terms and conditions you agreed to when ordering and also complies with the UK distance selling regulations which actually state that you must notify us within seven days if you do not wish to keep the products (obviously we give you 14 days to do rather than the minimum seven.)

If you require further assistance, please respond to this email, ensuring the ticket number is left in the subject line.

Many thanks,

NutraScience Customer Service Team

So it seems they will not give me my money back RIPP OFF COMPANY WATCH OUT

[11/07/2012] Pat Edinburgh: Thanks for this info about Nutrascience. I am another mug who fell for their marketing ploy. I will try the number now. However, I wait to find if you did get a refund. Which address are you sending it back to?

[11/07/2012] Pat Edinburgh: Did get through quite quickly on the number you gave. Thanks so much! They have assured me that I have cancelled and no more charges will be taken. They say they have sent an email in reply to mine of yesterday but I haven't received it. It appears that because I haven't returned within 21 days I can't get the money back. Luckily I haven't taken any of the pills anyway.

Claim title: DONT FALL FOR THE \"FREE TRIAL\" SCAM!

[14/09/2012] JJ: I've ordered the pills after I saw the ad the internet. It said FREE TRIAL, as everyone else I dod not read the small print. This was late night, afterwards I've read soooo much complains about the company that the first thing in the morning I called them to cancel my order. Suprisingly it was ALREADY shippe! How??? Who works at night? I was told to send the order back after I receive it. On my question if I even not going to pick it up they told that first I receive it, then call them again (what for???) to cancel it and to receive instructions, and the last day to post it was the 14th day after the purchase, not after the day you receive the package. Thanks everyone openning my eyes and understanding that even though I don't receive the package, or send it back, I will definetely be charged the money for it. i run to my bank to cancel my credit card.
