I have just read the comments made by others who have had the same difficulties with Directlgv and I wish to register my own disappointment and offer my assistance in support of any claims made against this company. I paid for a PCV course (cat. D) in full and have the receipt dated 13th May 2009. Having passed the required theory test a few days afterwards I have heard nothing from the company in respect of my practical driving course. This led me to telephone them on a weekly basis. I have to say at no time have they made contact with me either by telephone nor E-Mail. It is always myself doing the chasing up. I have been fobbed off since by 'MARLA' onb the very few occasions I have spoken to her. She always appears to be in a meeting or out of the Office. She has told me that the office has had a major overhaul and persons have left the company. The latest is that a course was offered to me in January 2010. This was offered in November and I am still waiting for the times date and place. I am now running out of patience. I do not require my money back but I do want to have the promised driving course which I have paid for. I suspect now that they are not going to give me the course as I have been waiting for so long that I feel an alternative course of action should be made. I spoke to the customer services rep only this morning who told me that I should speak to 'MARLA' as she is the only one making the bookings and that the rep I spoke to could not access her computer to provide me with the information I have been waiting so long for. She is now not back at work until 6th Jan 10. and on holiday presumeably with our money the company have taken from us.

[15/01/2010] S: I have had the same problem although mine goes back 18 months and I amn still trying to get a refund, I have contact trading standards and now have a CCJ against them and I have reported them to company house, for giving fraudulent names and details, I will be issuing a warrent at their registered address at companies house, if this is not correct them then they will be investigated by the fraud team in Companies house, their day is coming!!!!!

[20/02/2010] can you trust them: hi guys

Just letting you know trucknet are not real. They are a bunch of people with no jobs harrasing companies they dont like. we are trying our best to get them closed.
highway lgv and direct lgv are reputable companies. Please feel free to use their services.
truck nets views are not echoed by us.

[22/02/2010] Trying to close Trucknet?: The above comment is not from CanYouTrustThem - we are not trying to close truknet, what nonsense.

Highway have already been closed down once by Trading Standards, and Direct LGV have countless CCJ's against them. Both companies are not reputable at all. Call the people that know - the RHA - they will tell you.

[23/02/2010] Trucknet have never been closed!: Trucknet are owned by Reed Publishing - they are a massive company and have never been closed. We are from Trucknet, and every day we call Direct LGV and Highway LGV and pretend to be customers. We record ALL the calls. And every time they lie on the phone (which they do on every call), we send the details to our contacts at Trading Standards. We have already had Highway LGV closed down once, we will get Direct LGV closed down soon too.

So if you're reading this Direct / Highway - try not to LIE on the phone and you'll be ok.

[23/02/2010] Lol!: The above comment is hilarious! What number do you call us at trucknet? There are no phones here...it is an internet forum.

You can see the type of people they are!

[02/03/2010] LGV TRAINING ADVISER: Why do potential LGV trainees not do the sensible thing and go and visit the training school they think might be ok for them so that they can meet with an instructor as well as having a look at the trucks and the set up they will be paying for??

Paying out money to a 'middleman' which can often be well over £1,000 without knowing which actual school they will be training with has got to be one of the most ridiculous things I have heard of!!

[24/04/2010] davefingers: You learn by your mistakes. I did... Direct LGV charged my £1349 last year. This covered practical and theory tests. I checked with training company who were paid £800 for my 16 hours of CAT D training and test fee. This leaves roughly £450 commission to LGV for a few phone calls and emails. I do feel shafted considering the poor service I was given; my training was 40 miles from home. I made many calls to Direct LGV to chase things up. They would not arrange anything nearer home. Advice: don't get involved with training agencies just because they appear at top of Internet search results. They survive by creaming off a large commission and try to place you with the cheapest possible traing company. Always contact the training company direct, and arrange a visit so you can see the set-up before handing over any cash. Many good companies have their own website, eg; in Yorkshire.. TAL; Euromark; Tockwith; Hargreaves.

[05/07/2010] Rich: Stay away!!!...I nearly paid for a course ( £1199 ) on Friday.....I had my credit card out, told them I would pay on Monday. Did some research this weekend and thank GOD I did!!!
Very, very lucky!.
I know hindsight is a great thing, but before you part with hundreds of pounds, do a little research online
