After discovering an ad in the Brighton Friday Ad, I decided to give the number on it a call. It was for a company, Select69, ( http://select69.com/ ) that provided work for people as 'extras' in adult movies. I phoned up, spoke to a woman named Robbie and gave her details such as height, hair colour, eye colour and so forth. After finishing this, she mentioned that there was a fee of £295 for three months membership, so that they could advertise. They justified this as to avoid time wasters. I was guaranteed work and told that there was already 8 roles suitable for me (based from the information given. I told them I'd think about it, and the following day I'd made the deposit of £295 into their Natwest account. A few days passed without hearing anything from them, eventually I was told they had found 2 jobs for me, one in Kent and another elsewhere, yet I had to pay £600 (each) to accept these! When I asked why, they said it was 'out of their area'. I declined, and a few weeks later I received another call for a 'course' that will 'guarantee me work' that will cost another £300. They provided me with no work (which they told me before paying they already had roles suited for me), and the 'work' they did find, for some reason I needed to pay more to accept. As well as the £295 paid directly to them, there was also £30 for a certificate of an STI test required to work in the adult industry and the costs of all phone calls made to them chasing them up on work.
