Myself and my wife were called by Ecoseal, who mentioned they had a government grant (something I now doubt) to reduce the cost of windows. We arranged an appointment, and were visited by Alan Shenton. We showed him some recent Sash UPVC units, and told him what we expected in the areas yet to be replaced (wood sash)
He came up with a price of £15k for 7 A rated sash UPVC, and two small sealed dg units!!!, which went down, and down, to just under £8k.

I told him the windows I had already, 3 sashes, one DG opening, and one dg sealed, came in at £2800, and the quote to do the rest was coming in at less than £5k, were so that was way off.

We were promised Fensa guarantees, 10 year guarantees, ecoseal's own employees, and A rated products, which we felt would have justified the extra cost.

They've just installed, and what he failed to mentioned was
fensa don't guarantee sash installs, as they are classed as repairs, this was pointed out by the surveyor, but at the time, this was the only problem I had.

The surveyor (also a subcontractor) also referred to a-rated products, noting the sills in between the glass would be black, which is what makes them A rated. They are in fact grey. however, either way the colour is an option, I have discovered it's the glass choice that makes it an A.

the windows are b rated
the windows are the same as the windows I already have, they've just inflated the price!!! Even the keys fit the old windows (and vice versa)

Fitters are not their own employees, which I specifically wanted to avoid, based on the lottery of tradesmen (although in this instance their work appears good)

I wouldn't touch this Company again, and emplore people to leave them well alone. The salesman had several opportunities to tell me his price wasn't competitive, and that they bought their windows from the same place. He implied they had their own source for windows.

We took out finance, so will be looking to them to pay out, with liability under S.75 but had I known, I wouldn't have wasted my time with these people, lying and witholding the truth to make a small fortune. Why would I have paid so much more for the same darn product!!!
