My son opened an account with HSBC 7 months ago. His wages are paid directly into his account. In the first month he accued £200 pounds in overdraft charges becuse he thought he had been given an overdraft and hadnt, he paid these and was given an £800 pound overdraft..all was well until yesterday he received a letter saying that HSBC are closing his account! He called them and the reason they give was 'they didnt like what was going on in his account'. Must be money laundering for a terroist group or pulling a huge Banking fraud I hear you say...well no. He's 22 years old and uses his account in the same way as his brothers and friends. eg small withdraws, dd's and deposits made by parents. Im so angry. I and my sons all bank with HSBC well not from Monday we dont. So be warned they can do this to you! Close your account without warning and leave you high and dry!
