Wedding Car No Show compensation »16/05/2009yes07/07/20096

Our wedding car that was booked and paid for in advance did not arrive on the day of our wedding to take the wedding party to our wedding nor did it arrive to transport us from the reception to our hotel.

We were never informed that they would not be arriving. I (the bride) ended up being driven to my wedding in my neighbours corsa, the bridemaids - in a neighbours people carrier, my brother had to drive the groom and the best man, and the make up artist took my mother ! We had to borrow money for a taxi to take us from the reception to our hotel in the evening..

All in all an extremely distressing, stressful and embarrassing situation. and the wedding video and photographs we're ruined.

After 5 weeks of phone calls and emails, we finally received a refund (after being promised it on numerous occasion and it never arriving)... but still no written explanation or apology and despite another 4 emails to the company, no sign of any compensation or even a response to my emails !

Not only did our wedding car not turn up, but the customers service we have received since has been disgusting.

See below for a extract from one of the earlier emails I sent to them.....

"I am writing in reference to the above booking for a Black Lincoln town car that we booked to take us and pick us up from our wedding - 16th May 2009.   As you are aware the limo did not arrive for either of the day time pick ups or for the evening pick up, as agreed on our booking confirmation. We were not informed on the day that the car would not arrive. As I'm sure you can imagine this caused us a huge amount of stress and embarrassment on a day which should have been very happy - something that we will never be able to forget.   We are yet to be offered any satisfactory explanation ( we have since been told that the limo broke down, but on speaking to the limo company itself they inform us that we weren't even on their job list for that day)   As of today we are still waiting for a refund of the full amount which was paid in advance, we have been promised this on numerous occasions since our initial contact with you on this matter on 18th May 12:40 pm. During this initial phone call our bank details were taken and we were advised that the money would be credited to my bank account within 3 -5 working day.  We were also advised at that point to write a letter of complaint, which we did, and posted it on the 18th May.   On arriving back from our honeymoon of the 1st June, the refund had still not been credited to my bank account and no response to the complaint letter had been received.   On the 2nd June we contacted you again regarding this matter and once again asked for an explanation regarding the limo not turning up, our refund, and a response to our complaint letter. Again we were told that the refund would be processed that day, we were also told that our complaint letter had not yet been received.   Now, on the 10th June - No refund has been received, no explanation has been received, and no response to our complaint letter has been received. We have made numerous phone calls to yourselves on this matter and are always promised that it will all be sorted by the end of the day and to expect a phone call back. We have never received a call back.   I now write to seek the following;

  • a refund of the full amount paid and confirmation of the date we should be expecting this by
  • an explanation regarding our limo not turning up for any of the 3 trips scheduled.
  • a response to our complaint letter
  • suitable compensation for the appalling service received, and stress and embarrassment caused.

After speaking to Gareth this morning, I understand that you are expecting this email and will be responding today. I look forward to having some initial response by 5 pm today."

Breach of contract »18/04/2010no06/05/20102
My wife & I were royally ripped off by Limo Broker. The car we hired which we paid the total sum of £262 for in advance for our wedding day on 18/04/2010 never arrived even though another car was readily available as explained to me by their customer service manager and they have still yet to refund us in full. We have only received our deposit of £92. My family & I have called numerous times only to be told by their customer service manager Stephen Welch that Tej Randeva, Managing Director & owner of Limo Broker has been made aware about our claim and that he was surprised we have not been refunded/compensated by now under the MD's/owners authorization. We have been persistently lied to with regards to our refund after they had promised it was already in my account 2 weeks consecutively & that it would take several working days to clear. This has gone on too long and we feel really let down by their lack of compassion for us in what is after all one of the most important days in our lives.

BREACH OF CONTRACT - WEDDING CAR DID NOT TURN UP »3/10/09no17/02/20101
OUR WEDDING CAR DIDNT TURN UP! We made the HUGE MISTAKE of booking our wedding car with Limo Broker Ltd. We booked a Chrysler Limo with them for our wedding day 3rd oct 2009. We booked the car in April so plenty of time. We paid £51.75 deposit. We called them to confirm our booking on the monday before our wedding and they said everything was fine. It was booked to turn up at midday at my house. By 12:30 still no limo. We then made 3 phone calls to Limo Broker to find out what was going on and all they said was that they didnt know. They then told us it was lost, then they changed it to the car had broken down. Me and my 4 bridesmaids were 45mins late for my wedding and had to get a tacky black cab. It was also booked to take me and my husband to reception after ceremony, so we had to use taxi's as our wedding day transport for the day. It took me alot of phone calls (and i got the phone put down on me twice when i gave them my name)after our wedding and a month and a half just to get my deposit back. Customer Service was extreamly rude. No compensation YET but Im still fighting for it. Limo broker have since admitted that it was infact an admin error in the Limo Broker Offices for the reason of our wedding car not turning up, so they actually LIED to me on the day when they said it was lost and broken down. I WOULDNT RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY TO MY WORST ENEMYS!

Taken £500 unauthorised from my account »15/02/2010yes16/02/20101
Limo brokers never cancelled my car. Did not send me any paperwork at all said they had then took £500 out my account without any contact as usuall Whats the point in haveing terms an conditions if your own staff carnt abide by them. Money spent on training in customer service would not go amiss where limo broker ltd are concerned. They dont have a rite to rip people off an think there wont be any come back from there fraudulant behaviour. If your after limo hire dont use this company it will cost you more than it worth.

Extremely Disappoint With the service I have received ! »19/06/2010yes21/06/20100
After being let down with the first company we booked with Limo Broker due to them going into liquidation we decided to pay the extra and go with limo brokers as the act as “the middle man” if you like and outsource your booking to companies with good reputations etc but what we didn’t know is that they charge you an arm and a leg for doing so !!! So with 5 weeks to find something else to seat 12 I phoned Limo Brokers and was dealt with by a very pleasant member of staff who couldn’t have been any friendlier, he asked what our criteria was and said he would do what he could after being told the price I thought it was a bit much and said I would get back to them, so after considering everything I phoned backed to book even though it was £117 more that our quotes from other companies as it came with that security that everything was going to be ok and we would receive a service which we would be more than happy with. We were told we would receive a white 16 Jeep Limo, with 8 bottles of champagne, decorated with balloons and banners, with wireless karaoke, stunning exterior and interior, and I quote “this limo is absolutely stunning”. So on Saturday night the white limo pulled up outside our house, I went outside to pay the remaining bill to the driving and was left standing like an idiot for 5 minutes before the driving came out, upon him open the door I could not believe what I saw: Seat with MASSIVE rips in them Carpet put back together with tape The limos interior and exterior were dirty 4 bottles of campaign (but when we told the driver he did give us our remaining 4 bottles) NO DECORATIONS The driver sat for 15 minutes outside our house with us in it before saying “where are we going” The driver didn’t have a clue where he was going so every 2 minutes we were getting asked directions We had to say to the driver “I think its about time to go to the venue” because if we didn’t we would have got charged for going over our time, surely to god it’s the drivers responsibility to make a 5 minute journey within an hour ! The sound system within the limo was of very pour quality The driver kept swerving about the roads causing us to spill our drinks about ourselves The driver didn’t ever bother to open the doors for us The driver looked scruffy to say the least I actually booked a limo with a local company the week before for another event and the service we received from them was far better than the service received from Limo Brokers ! I have been trying to get in touch with the customer services managers for the past 3 hours and all I get is hung up on ! Appalling !

Poor Service »June 5th 2010yes20/07/20100
I booked a limpo for my hen night and when I rang up there was some confusion with the booking as the car was double booked. We ended up paying for the next car up which cost more but we were promised 2 bottles of bubbly. We were also told there would be pink balloons and a fantastic music and system. When the car showed up we asked the driver for the bubbly and he told us it was no his job to provide the bubbly. The music system was very poor quality and kept cutting out. We asked the driver to stop for the toilet but he said he wouldn't have time as he had to be in London later that afternoon. He eventually stoppd aand kept going on about he wouldn't be seeing any of the money we paid. We felt that we paid a lot fo money for the limousine and didn't get a satisfactory service. I rang up limo broker and was told to e mail Steve in customer services. I have done this several times and rang up. I rang up on July 18th from overseas and was put on hold for 15 mins and no-one get back to me and today I rang and they hung up on me. I would just like customer services to reply to my complaints in a professional way.

LIMO BROKER COMPLAINT »17th July 2010yes15/08/20100
A bad review for Limo Broker! Limo Broker Ltd are an unprofessional, uncommunicative company who do not know the meaning of the phrase “customer service”. We booked and hired them for my sister’s hen night in Cambridge. I booked a black hummer with balloons, banners and champagne. I got a white stretch jeep with balloon, no banners or champagne. We paid for a return journey; however, the limo was doing another job in London in between our pick-up and collection later on. The limo got stuck in traffic in London (surprise!) and we ended up having to take taxis home at the end of the night (1.15am) because we had no idea when they would turn up. I wrote and posted a letter of complaint to their registered address, and tried various e-mail contact addresses, but have not yet received a meaningful response. So as I said, this is a very bad review for Limo Broker! AVOID AT ALL COSTS unless you have money to burn, enjoy bad service and look forward to being let down on an important occasion, in which case they are just the company for you. (I even sent them a copy of this review before posting it, in a last-ditch attempt to resolve the issue – their on-going silence presumably means they agree with what I’ve said!)
