I paid in full for training PCV theory and practical. My theory test is supposed to be in the week commencing 26th October but they have confirmed nothing, even at this late date. Ann Caan has not replied to either of my emails of Saturday 3rd or Monday 5th October 2009.
I have just read the comments made by others who have had the same difficulties with Directlgv and I wish to register my own disappointment and offer my assistance in support of any claims made against this company. I paid for a PCV course (cat. D) in full and have the receipt dated 13th May 2009. Having passed the required theory test a few days afterwards I have heard nothing from the company in respect of my practical driving course. This led me to telephone them on a weekly basis. I have to say at no time have they made contact with me either by telephone nor E-Mail. It is always myself doing the chasing up. I have been fobbed off since by 'MARLA' onb the very few occasions I have spoken to her. She always appears to be in a meeting or out of the Office. She has told me that the office has had a major overhaul and persons have left the company. The latest is that a course was offered to me in January 2010. This was offered in November and I am still waiting for the times date and place. I am now running out of patience. I do not require my money back but I do want to have the promised driving course which I have paid for. I suspect now that they are not going to give me the course as I have been waiting for so long that I feel an alternative course of action should be made. I spoke to the customer services rep only this morning who told me that I should speak to 'MARLA' as she is the only one making the bookings and that the rep I spoke to could not access her computer to provide me with the information I have been waiting so long for. She is now not back at work until 6th Jan 10. and on holiday presumeably with our money the company have taken from us.
We are a small family business who also has fallen foul of the endless promises by this company. We are owed money for training we have provided for Direct LGV (From April, June & October 2009). We even took on the further training in October with the promise that the outstanding invoices would be paid up to date. We have left over 50 phone messages and sent several e-mail's regarding the matter. Normally fobbed off with she’s at a meeting/off sick/not in the office today. Despite promises by Marla to pay after we threatened legal action we are still awaiting payments. Our phone calls are not being returned and we have yet to receive an email from them. It's hard for us all to manage day to day without companies ripping off people who are trying to improve their career prospects and the providers of the training. Training is not cheap; people are losing thousands of pounds each time. My company has also been unlucky enough to also be scammed to the tune of £3400 by Pathways LGV recently and we are now unsure of the employees and the company future. Seems like some of the large companies have no morals and are just ripping us all off. We know our candidates have already paid LGV Direct (so it’s not their fault) but we have still not being paid. May be we should all be contacting Watchdog/The One Show and any other media we can. If we can stop anyone else losing money that can only be a good thing? Companies should not be allowed to be getting away with this. They are still trading and taking peoples hard earned cash. Please don’t let it happen to you. We are not the only training company to fall foul of these companies and it is normally the smaller companies that suffer the most. Good luck to you all. I hope we can all get the monies owed. This gives LGV training such a bad rep.
Hi, just let you know in september 2009 i paid to directlgv criminals for C, C+E £2447 now is march 2010 still did not have any training dates. If you are in same position as me contact fraud watch on 03001232040 uk as they breach service act 1992 service not provided in reasonable time.
these cowboys have had my full amount for class 1 and adr course since 15th october 2008. only had one booking date for a place i specifically asked not to be placed at and information on it wrong i.e mispelled names the amount i paid was around £2500 and was told no refunds terms and conditions rubbish which i was not notified about over the phone when booking.i thenphoned pretending to be a new customer bit my hand off for my custom ntil i said i wanted place on course i originally asked and had paid . then fobbed of between pretend managers and maybe even the cleaner who know with these idiots. more letters have been sent to them last 2 no replies at all.
I applied for an hgv training course with Direct Lgv,theyr sales department was very persuasive and even though i only had £200 to my name they took straight there, promising me payment facilities,2 days later i cancelled because i realised i really would not be able to pay them £1800 and i had no one to borrow it from....today is the 17th December and after several calls and 2 letters i am still waiting to get my money back. They keep fobbing me off ,they have promised the money would be in my account by a certain date ,wich has come and gone,i have follow all the right steps according to theyr terms and conditions. I am now prepared to take this to the media,to trading standards and to LBTH trading department,I will also if necessary report them to the Police for Fraudulent Trading
got loads of phone calls promising me everything ie test ect they were never off the phone once i sent my cheque off i never heard no more from them nd when i did phone the person who was dealing with my case had left ?????? it happens everytime u phone, ive phoned trading standards nd they cant get threw 2 them either its a pure joke dont send your money to them ive even been on websites nd phoned communications nd the address is invalid everytime its a total scam all we can say is what goes around comes around lol they have totally scammed me DO NOT USE DIRECT LGV
i paid my deposit of £100 for a lgv trainng course, they then sent me my starter pack consisting of dvd, book, liecence paperwork and there booklet, i then paid the rest of my course about a month later, the day after my course a lorry driver friend phoned me to ask me if i knew about the CPC which had come into force from sept i replied no so they advised me to contact direct lgv to ask if they cover this within the price.
So i phoned and was told no they do not do CPC within their training and it would be extra, so i then phoned VOSA to ask if the company should be doing the course as im a new driver and they said yes because i could pass my LGV but still wouldnt be able to drive because i hadnt passed my CPC, so i phoned back and was then told if i had passed my test before 1997 i had 5 years grace to do it which again is wrong they also said that as its new they didnt know much about it although PSV drivers had to do theirs last year and LGV drivers knew it was coming in this year.
My partner then phoned and pretended he too wanted a course and asked if he passed his LGV could he go out and drive straight away and they said yes to this point still no mention of the CPC to him, my partner is always phoning and being palmed off all the time saying the person he needs to speak to is either busy or not in her office.
I have wrote a letter stating that i want a full refund as the company is incompetent and not providing a proper service, i have sent my starter pack back to them as requested but still no joy of a refund yet.
IN Nov 2009 paid this company £1399.00 for a PCV training course, which was said to include a CPC course and a Fast track which would give me garanteed six months experience, and be able to have training the first two weeks in January 2010, well this date has come and gone, I have recently contacted them and been promised the first two weeks in Febuary, they said they would send confirmation by post, this was seven days ago, no letter, so phoned them and now they tell me no dates have been confirmed as of yet and the person I spoke to last week Lloyd (the training co-ordinator) should not give out training dates, I cant see now that I will either get a refund or my training so BE AWARE or these Rouge traders, all they want is your money, I will continue to try and get either my money or my training.
From june 2008 this company has taken £2097 for trainng purposes that they have not supplied. The company seems to have dissappeared of the face of the earth. I have written to the company at three different address's. receiving no reply from any,I have attempted to call on numerous occasions yet cannot get through. after the initial payments thier interest in my customer has dissappeared, they are obvious "cowboy" operators and if this stops anyone being "ripped off" I will be extremley pleased
On the 18th of September 2009 i entered into a contract with the company (directLGV) for the provision of a PCV drivers refresher course and was charged seven hundred and fifty pounds for the provision of the course. This money was paid immediately by myself at the company's request.
After four weeks(18th of october), i notified the company in writing that i wish to cancel because they where unable to provide a start date for me . As i am writing now the company has not refunded the full course fee i paid them. They claim to adhere to the full provisions of the the distance selling regulations, i have called on numerous occasions, and the response i get is that my case is been looked into. I have paid £750 and got nothing in return so far.
Well i can already see that more than one person has had something bad to say about this ferm, so let me begin. Everything started fine they sent out relevant paperwork i paid for both course and the pass plus protection program. but when it came down to booking every test it was always a couple of months later. Well when i finally done the theorys and passed, they booked my actual practical test. One week before my test i got a phone call explainning they sacked all there customer service team, because they werent doing there job properly. Then told me that they hadnt actually booked my test, which i had been waiting for, for several months. You could imagine i was fuming.
I asked about the refund policy, i was advised i had to write in and i would get my refund. THIS WAS 3 MONTHS AGO.
Still i am chasing this RUBBISH company and so are my Bank . but every time i ring up they come up with the same excuses. My manager isnt in the office or i cant get threw to the refund department, ill have to call you back. As you could imagine after 3 months of trying still nothing.
Please do not go with this terrible company
Booked my cat c with this company, told me to pay 200 pound deposit and the jobcentre would fund the rest. so i paid the 200 only for the jobcentre to tell me they didnt fund this course. so i phoned up for a refund and they told me to put it in writing, only for them to write back and say it was non returnable, so instead of losing the 200, i borrowed 800 pound from a friend and paid the outstanding balance, i told them my driving licence was european and they said it wasnt a problem, so i then filled in a dvla form for my provisional, and they wrote back saying i needed a full uk driving licence first.
So i phoned direct lgv again, and again they told me to put it in writing.
They wrote back to me saying they regret to inform me that my request for a refund has been denied due to reasons stated in there terms and conditions, which i have never seen, the only thing they have sent me is a receipt for the money they have received from me. The only thing they are interested in is your money and they will tell you anything as long as it makes you pay.
Hi There,
My name is Krisztian Krajcz from Basingstoke.
I am writing to you after I tried to get in touch with the right people many times and
Nothing happened. I started my studies for Class 2. driving license in 08/2009.
I was searching on the internet to find the best driving course company who can provide me the fastest course near where I live. Your company advertised itself as one pf the best leading company LGV training company who helps me to became an LGV driver (within 4/6 weeks near me in one of the 40 training centre that you have in the UK.
Everything was nice and shiney before I made the payment of 1100 pounds. I went to the doctor he was helpful and we filled out all the documents that I need for the provisional license. I did my studies for Hazar Perception test till I was waiting for my provisional from DVLA and I received that one as well. The problems are started in that time.
I called your center saing I am ready for my test and like to book for the Hazard Percerption Part. I was told to wait a week. Needless to say nothing happened not after one but in three weeks time neither. I contacted you again but the answer was the same I need to wait for one week. I didn’t know in that time I can book on the website of ttp://www.dsa.gov.uk website which is takes about five minutes to do but I was till trusting you to do something that I have paid for. After one week I called the booking department and when they said I need to wait again I became very very disappointed.
How comes I paid a service and I get nothing for that?
I started my course in august and the earlies date that you gave me was 6th of October after twenty phonecalls and a waste of money and time? Do you think is fair?
After I passed my hazard perception test and it turned out the booking takes about max 10 minutes for both of my exam I asked your booking department why did it take so long if my friend could book for his test so quickly and started to worry about my next step exam the practical Part of my driving. That was in the end of October 2009.
I gave many calls to your booking department and nothing happened except they said
You just need to wait for a week…so Im asking then how comes if your company could gave me a call in the very beginning nearly every days and asking for the payment and when its should be your turn I get promises but nothing else.
I have been waiting since the October of 2009 giving manz calls and getting only one more week promises but nothing else I think it’s ridicolous. Two weeks before I have got a phonecall from you from the booking apartment where they said they found an appointment for me for Practical Driving Test. The lady I was spoken she wanted to send me to nottinghamshire saying that’s the nearest centre to me where I could finally finish my studies. When I was asking her to repeat my address she said I am living in Nothinghamshire….IN NOTHINGHAMSHIRE.
i decided not to carry on with you and I do not need your service anymore so I just want to claim my money back as soon as possible.
Regards
Krisztian Krajcz

I was booked on a pcv training course to start at the beginning of August. whilst I was paying in installments I mentioned in a telephone call and in an email that I require an automatic gear box, as thats all I drive, I was told that was fine and they would make a note of it. when I arrived for my training on 02/08/10 the vehicle was a manual, I got in touch with Direct LGV, they said I would have to continue with the training as it had been booked (even though I can't drive stick)I phoned them the next day and they told me there is nothing they could do and they couldn't refund my money or rebook my training course.
The only thing these people have done right is book me on 2 theory tests, I had to book and pay for my CPC case study theory test myself. (even though on there website they say the price includes all tests! )
Update: been to my solicitor, who says it looks like I have a case against these people, as I had stated in writting that I needed an automatic gearbox, so therefore they've breached their contract.
I will keep you all updated on what happens with my solicitor.
I did also contact Direct LGV , they're saying because I didn't receive a reply to my email they can't do anything about it. I told them I was going to take them to court and they don't care.
I've also got in touch with my bank to try and get the money put back on my debit card.
