Refusal to refund against faulty Mercedes gearbox »9th September 201124/09/20111
Ordered gearbox for Mercedes ML on 30th August included 1 month guarantee. Took delivery of the gearbox on 5th September. Fitted new filter and replaced oil. Fitted gearbox to car using own tranfer box. Car would not drive. Advised Anglia of fault on 9th September and Keith Abbotts stated he would refund moneys paid. Returned gearbox on 12th September. When no refund received by 16th September sent e mail to ask about refund. No respnse so called repeatedly over next few days. Eventually spoke with Keith and he advised that no refund would be made because filter had been changed and this necessitated removal of sump cover. I explained to keith that this was common sense and exactly what would be done by any garage service upon fitting a new gearbox. Keith is adamant that no refund will be paid. Since this car belongs to my mother who is a pensioner and invalid, she is currently unable to get out of the house and this is causing considerble stress.

The the email below represents a small sample of complaints sent to the company and to date there have not refund my account.

I wish to make a complaint about the company listed above.I have tried to get a refund for car parts which was never delivered.I have contacted the company on numerous occassions.They have made empty promises and to date I have not received any refund. I have spoken to Anthony(manager?) who assured me that he would sort it.This has been two weeks.And as you can see they have not responded I have phoned them again today13/121/2010.They promised to ring me back but no message recieved. Below is a sample of emails i have sent to date.

My original question for refund is still unanswered !
I have contacted the 0161 7992185 number and spoke to Anthony who has promised to refund me but to date he has not done so.
I am not sure what business you are running but I am not impressed.

On 07/10/10 to Barlow street AutocD4834 my account was debited for the sum of £33.00. To date I have not received the parts or a refund. I can only assumed that this is an oversight on your part.Can you rectify the situation immediately.

THEY OFFERED TO SEND A REPLACEMENT PART AS ANOTHER SUITABLE VEHICLE WAS EXPECTED IN - I'M STILL WAITING FOR THIS VEHICLE TO ARRIVE AND THEY ARE NOT WILLING (AT THIS STAGE) TO REFUND MY MONEY. THEIR CURRENT STANCE IS FOR US TO PAY AND RETURN THE PART THEN THEY MAY CONSIDER A REFND IF THEY JUDGE THE PART TO BE UNSUITABLE. I COULD BE LEFT WITH NO PART AND NO MONEY SO WILL SEEK THE ADVICE OF TRADING STANDARDS. I DID PAY BY CREDIT CARD AND KNOW THAT AFTER 30 DAYS SHOULD THEY NOT SUCCESSFULLY DEAL WIH THE MATTER I CAN APPLY FOR A CHARGE BACK.

This company made a contract with us for delivery of UBC Cans and when we were ready to make shipment they cancelled contract without any reason. Now we have lost over USD 10,000 because of them and they donot respond to mails or calls.
Beware of doing business with them and make sure get paid before 100%
Jim Skipsey is the biggest thief there and Alan Alpert is supporting his cheating activities.
They all take your goods and not pay if market is down. Now there is a complaint in many countries against them. They cheat your money and live in big houses and drive posh cars.

Pay for the parts and labour to correct the faulty engine you sent »13/06/1313/08/20130
On 13/06/13 I paid £1080 for a reconditioned smart car engine. It took 4 weeks to arrive and when it did there was no cylinder head cap, spark plug fittings and a loose coolant system.

When you blamed the garage, I checked around and found that ALL engines should be supplied with gasket caps, this is standard, unlike your asssertion that this was an 'extra'.

Smart manufacturer has confirmed this. What you sent was sealed with mastick. You say that you are 'within your rights to take back the engine' but mention nothing about refunding.

I now see identical issues posted online from other previous customers.
