Claim synopsis:  An internet user may click on a link in a page to view a video, and be presented with a bill for £142.50. 

How to Correct malpractice: 

All video links which involve bills for large sums of money should be password protected and on a separate page of the site, not universally open to children, teenagers, people in the UK or elsewhere who have little grasp of English, and/or people who are in a hurry and do not bother to read all the blurbs connected to a link.

There are some video links on the BBC site which I believe to be repeats and which can be accessed free of charge by anybody anywhere in the world. There are other links, mixed in with the free links, which involve buying a United Kingdom television licence at a cost of £142.50, which can also be accessed by anybody anywhere in the world.

It is business malpractice to mix these various links on the same page, for if someone clicks on a chargeable link without owning the required UK licence, that individual may either be arrested by the police and imprisoned or fined or made to buy the licence.

The BBC site is open to all internet users, just like any other site which incorporates video clips for business advertising or the spreading of information, and to charge an excessive sum for clicking a link to watch a short video is unethical business practice.   It is, in fact, unusual for any site to make a charge to watch a short video - and to charge for some video clips but not for others on the same site is either inappropriate behaviour or an attempt to swindle internet users who have never experienced a site that charges for video clips before.

If any user here know of a watchdog which handles such cases of unethical internet behaviour, please let me know, as the UK Labour government does not seem to have a department to investigate bad company practice on the world wide web.  It is unlikely that a Member of Parliament would take up the case, but this is malpractice at a national level and re-organisation of the policies of the website is quite urgent, before these links are accessed and unfortunate internet users are charged with an offence.

After paying hundreds of thousands of dollars for this companies services over the last four years, it has been brought to my attention that there value proposition is based on lies. They claim to be relied on by all of the worlds main media, but actually they are relied on only by low budget one man web publishers. They provide usage reports to there clients but no evidence that what is contained in the report happened. They claim that the BBC, CNN, CNBC and all the Tier 1 media use them, but I have never seen any evidence of this or have I ever met anyone who worked in the media that had even heard of them. Apparently they rely on a smoke and mirrors approach to this and claim that its too expensive to employ a media monitoring service to validate there claims. As a senior manager of a fortune 500 company I am embarassed that I stuck with it for so long.

My name is Ian Griffin. I need to warn anyone who may get involved with the worst human eing ive ever met - Geoff Wilkinson who used to live in Parbold, Wigan, Lancashire but now lives in Halsall House, Halsall lane, Halsall, Lancs. I dated his daughter for 15 years in which time he and his brother sold their company Constance Carrole. He brother Peter left to open a shooting ranch in Africa so Geoff came to me for help in making money in technology. Diane had told him how well was doing and he wanted me to be his business partner. So, I met him and agreed on a 50:50 partnership. I went on to spend 2 years travelling the world and bringing all my partners / contacts together. Eventually I put together a deal with a very small company who aggregated text messages - they weere on the brink of going under as they needed new systems which they couldnt afford. So, i had many many meetings with them (mediaburst) and my company (mediapocket) to upgrade their systems and use all my contacts to bring in new business - I then brought Geoff to one meeting with his brother Peter - which was my only demand as Geoff wasnt a likable person and had a terrible bedside manner. The meeting went really well and we agreed a fair deal of 45-55% in their favour - dispite Geoff trying to trick them with the voting rights. Geoff called me teh night after the meeting and said it would be a good ides to invite them to his house - to impress them with his wealth - he did have 10,000,000 in furniture! He said that he and Peter would do it and there was no need for me to be there. The house meeting went ahead and I have never been able to speak to any of them ever again. Peter told me afterwards that Geoff had said if they want the deal, they must never speak to me ever again = or the money would be taken away (he had offered them unlimited funds). I asked his daugher (Diane Wilkinson) 'how could he do this to me - i spent 2 years of my life to help him'. She said 'This ma left my mother without a penny when she had cancer - he never saw his other daughter and when mum died, he never even came to her funeral' Geoff kicked Diane out, pennyless and jobless and he also screwed up so many business partners he wass scared to leave his house. THe first time I met him he had body-guards staying at his house as he was so scared due to death threats. My only consolation was taht his much younger wife (a bar tender from Wigan) was and still is having an affair. How can anyone leave their wife pregnant , with cancer and with no money? Thats Geoff Wilkinson of Halsall House, Halsall Lane, Halsall, Lancashire! And for the Tax-man - Geoff bragged to me how he envaded paying tax by using antiques / furnitutre. I hope you get caught Geoff! Close-Up TV News/Radio is a telemarketing company but they are not licensed in any state as a telemarketer.

Yes, this was one of those telephone calls that promised the moon, stars and everything in between. Yes, in a weak moment I gave in. These are pros that promise us and tell us everything we want to hear.

For a "small" fee they will agree to conduct interviews. Now, I have to tell you that when Close-Up TV News contacted me I had the impression it was "Close-Up TV News" contacting me and wanting to interview me. Not even close! Actually they use that name but the interviews were conducted over "blog talk radio", not even real radio. So, it started out misleading.

The services not provided were:

1. The email list – to Fortune 500 companies
Close-Up TV News/Radio/Ceparano has not addressed this issue at all. However, Ceparano has admitted in writing that all services were not rendered.

2. Press release with photo or video distribution to media publications
Close-Up TV News/Radio/Ceparano has not provided any evidence this service was rendered. However, Ceparano has admitted in writing that all services were not rendered. Close-Up provided a copy of the 100 distribution list provided by the clipping service WOOEB. I provided to you the breakdown of who the press release was sent to.

25 of the 100 were to industry specific non major media publications; i.e. scientific, financial or medical journals. No major media were included in the distribution.

3. Press release with photo or video distribution to networks
Close-Up TV News/Radio/Ceparano has not provided any evidence this service was rendered. However, Ceparano has admitted in writing that all services were not rendered. Close-Up provided a copy of the 100 distribution list provided by the clipping service WOOEB. I provided to you the breakdown of who the press release was sent to.

Six radio stations were included in the 100. None of the six were networks or network affiliates.

4. Promotional campaign for products, services, books, etc.
Close-Up TV News/Radio/Ceparano has not addressed this issue. They have provided no evidence of any campaign to promote me or my book. However, Ceparano has admitted in writing that all services were not rendered.

Ceparano did claim they were promoting through social networks. That has been disproven.

During the dates of my interviews, February 18-March 12, there were five postings on Twitter – none were for my interviews.

In an email from Ceparano dated April 4th “We promote via social media via Facebook and Twitter where your shows are listed with times and dates of airings.” The interviews did not show up on any of the Close-Up TV News Facebook or Twitter accounts, only some of them showed up on one of Jim Masters Facebook accounts, and Doug Llewellyn did no postings that I found.

Specific account and posting information has been previously provided.

5. Provide company visibility on the major search engines
Close-Up TV News/Radio/Ceparano has not provided any evidence that this was done. Advertising their website and blog talk radio is not how invisibility on major search engines is accomplished. I provided to you information on how this is accomplished and how it can be verified. (www.dmoz.org)

There would be a submission confirmation, an approval or a rejection if the website had been submitted through a broker or through individual search engine submission processes. None of that documentation has been provided.

6. Live streaming from website
Close-Up TV News/Radio/Ceparano has not provided any evidence that this was done. In fact, Ceparano has admitted it was not.

7. Podcast of interview series
Close-Up TV News/Radio/Ceparano has not provided any evidence that this was done. In fact, Ceparano has admitted it was not.

8. Stats on live callers to show
Close-Up TV News/Radio/Ceparano has not provided. However, Ceparano has admitted in writing that all services were not rendered. If they quote stats and use stats in their marketing to sell the interviews then stats must exist.

9. Stats on listeners
Close-Up TV News/Radio/Ceparano has not provided. However, Ceparano has admitted in writing that all services were not rendered. If they quote stats and use stats in their marketing to sell the interviews then stats must exist.

10. Detailed year long media campaign
Close-Up TV News/Radio/Ceparano has not provided. Ceparano has indicated that none of the above services were rendered because this was a year-long media campaign. Where are the details of that campaign? Where is the proof, i.e., contract, there was a year-long contract?

Why would you schedule and conduct the interviews without promoting them?

11. Website tech support – Questions were asked and not answered. The banner was changed without authorization or approval. I asked that those changes be removed – they were not. While I liked the visual affect, it was not usable because it was not layered.
In a February 26th email from Kevin Rocke he stated that if I was not happy with the unapproved, unauthorized change that he made to my website banner he would revert it back to its original condition. I requested on March 4th that it be changed. By April 4th he had not reverted the banner.

12. Website design completion – There was no input on pages 2 or 3; unauthorized changes were not undone.
There was no design or data entry by Kevin Rocke or anyone else from Close-Up TV News/Radio. The only way the website was redesigned, and approved by them via email, prior to the first interview, was because I did the data entry and design.

The contract was a lump sum contract. If Close-Up TV News/Radio/Ceparano cannot provide proof that all this work was rendered, they are not entitled to any payment.

So far, Ceparano has submitted irrelevant, redundant and deceptive documentation but has never provided any documentation to support any of these services have been rendered.

This company is operating, without the appropriate license and taking advantage of people in at least 26 US States, this year alone, and in Canada.

According to your terms conditions i have paid the full payment before the delivery of the goods. i had advance payment pay by (TT) SBI Bank through. in his Company's bank accounts. On 17/07/2013 I have received the goods and when I verified the goods I found all the memory cards are corrupted and not in working condition. and not usable all card. not read and write in card.
