Prize Draw Rip Off »8th June 200909/07/20092

** PRIZE DRAW SCAMMERS AVOID**

Please avoid any mail comming from these people claiming that you have won loads of money.

My father-inlaw was recently sent wining notification claiming he was the sole winner to the £500,000.00 prize fund.

He foolishly sent them a cheque for £14.995 believing this to be true!!

What an idiot and we told him!!

We have reported this matter to SOCA the Serious Organised Crime Agency.

I wish for anyone who has received mail from this firm, but any other firm claiming to have won money to report it immediately.

Lets put a stop to these fraudsters!!

I recently received a sweepstakes letter from a Mr. Charles hamilton Sr. of Hamilton Moore & Associates in Ontario. In this letter I was informed that I was the "sole recipient" of £550,000,00 and they had been desperately trying to reach me to inform me of my winnings.

I was further informed that I woudl receive a bonus prize of a pair of pearl earings as apparently the contest was as part of a promotion for a jewlery company.

Needless to say, as I had not entered any contests I found this all more than a little suspect. I was told that to claim my prize I must post £19.95 to the company in the envelope provided. This is where it became quite clear that the whole thing was a scam as one of the payment options in addition to [credit card details] (link: #). These miserable people a likely making a mint off of people's naivety and most of the people who send their money will be the ones who can't afford to be without it.

I am also very concerned that my name and address is clearly available somewhere to people like this and it makes me wonder if this is perhaps the direct result of recent government blunders resulting in the loss of millions of personal details.

Please if you receive this letter do not be taken in by it. If it sounds too good to be true and you have not entered any contests then it is a scam. Use your common sense and when in doubt just do some research.

Allocation and Processing Fee »25/09/200925/09/20091

I have today recieved a letter informing me that they have been desperately been trying to get hold of me and I have 7 days to get back to them with the processing fee of £14.95 so as they can send me my winnings of £550,000,00...also I will recieve a pair of 8mm south sea shell pearl earrings set on silver posts!!!

Having never entered any competition needless to say I was very suspicious...So I came online and checked it out...And just as I thought ITS A SCAM....I worry about the p[eople that fall for this cruelty...sending the money expecting to recieve this prize...The people that will send this money to them will be those who can least afford it....

What I would like to know is how they get hold of names and addresses to be able to prey on those less fortunate...

I would like to see these people named shamed and imprisoned...
