goods paid for but not delivered »5April200909/05/200917

Perfume ordered through website and paid for by Visa.Emails from Chris at support@theperfumeemporium.co.uk said it was sent on 7 April by 1st. class Royal Mail but I had to wait 15 working days before Chris could send a replacement or refund the money. After this wait I emailed again and Chris said a replacement would be with me in a few days;a week has passed and still no delivery.I also asked for proof of posting and he did not give this.

I have since asked for a full refund and that email has not been answered.

An email dated 26 May tells me that a refund is not due until 12 June 'under the distance selling regulations'.

Chris has had my money since 7 April and I have had no goods or credible explanation. Surely I should be entitled to a refund before 12 June?

Emails and contact through the website seem the only means of communicating with the Perfume Emporium---there is no evidence that it actually exists as retailer!

After more emails a refund was made on 12 June

How to get your money back »20/07/200921/10/200912

Yippee Hurrayyyyyyyy,
Dear All that have been scammed by above named company. This is confirmation that i got my £132.06 refund from THE PERFUME EMPORIUM yesterday 20/10/2009.
This was made possible because the hosting "www.hostgator.com" company stepped in. To claim your refund please email the hosting company at enclosed email address support@hostgator.com

I got in touch with hostgator a few days back and thier response was as swift and effective as the hold/control or what ever they have over Owner/Contact : Christopher Collings, Support Staff : Christopher Collings a.k.a Chris of THE PERFUME EMPORIUM. They got in touch with this fraud called Chris and he sent an instant message that my money will be refunded in 2-5 working days. I did not hold my breath but was pleasantly shocked to see the credit in my account this morning.
Regards

The Perfume Emporium Scam »20/07/200915/10/20093

I paid for four items valued at £132.06 on the 20/07/2009 via above named company's website with my debit card. Money was deducted from my account and dispatch was confirmed by this company. However, the items were never delivered and there has been a series of excuses from this person Christopher Collings a.k.a Chris who doubles as the support and contact person on behalf of this fraudulent company. To outdo himself and all previous ridiculous excuses, this despicable fellow sent an email today 15/10/2009  that it will take another 132 days (note: same amount that i paid) to get my refund. What can i do to expedite action against this rogue company and chap, this is UK and not some foreign country for crying out loud. Please help.

Non arrival of GHD Straighteners »28 June 200924/07/20092

On 28 June 2009 I placed an order with Blissful Aromas for a pair of GHD Straighteners.  After just over a week I had not received the GHD's so I contacted them by e-mail.  Had a reply on 7 July which said there had been a delay by my GHD's would be posted to my on Friday 9 July.

By 17 July they had still not arrived so I contacted them again and received a reply on 24 July (this was headed up from Dan Archer at Blissful Aromas) saying that due to problems with moneybookers their store had been forced to close!!!

Now I have no GHD's but they have my £74.99!!

Please don't have anything to do with these people as you will lose your money!!

No Goods / o Refund »03/04/0915/06/20092

Ordered perfume from this website and it didn't arrive. I emailed Chris who told me it was Royal Mail's fault and i should wait a further 15 days before he could lodge a complaint with them. I emailed him again after the 15 days and asked for a refund. He persuaded me to let him resend it and he would refund my postage, which he did. When no perfume arrived after 3 weeks i emailed him back and demanded a refund, which he said, under their terms and conditions i was entitled to one. When i emailed him again after about a week to say no refund had been issued, he said under the long distance selling act he had 30 days to refund. He has until the 26th of June then the 30 days are up. I dont expect to get one as i believe he is just stalling for time, hoping i'll give up.

I have informed Trading Standards, Watchdog and HMRC (because he charges VAT but i dont believe he is VAT registered).

I know it is only £40 but it is my hard earned money and he's not going to get away with robbing me!

Creditable? Crunch »24/04/200907/07/20091

Unfortunately I too have been duped by this apparent scam. I placed my order on 24th April 2009 and have been chasing Mr. Collings ever since. It seems as though Mr. Collings has the worst possible luck with Royal Mail. (Who I am quite sure will be interested in the bad publicity Mr Collings is spreading,).

I have sent and received e-mails on a frequent basis but my constant requests for a refund are met with various stalling tactics. I have had all of the same responses as the other users for this merchant, his latest advising that a refund would be made yesterday (6th June 2009) quoting the Distance Selling Regulations 2000. Although I don't profess to be a mathematician, I'm fairly certain from the 24th April to 6th June equates to a lot longer than 30 days!

At this time I am unsure of whether I will see my refund, however I won't ever give up trying! Any help is appreciated. I have a full history of all communication with Mr Collings which no doubt includes most of his "automatic" responses.

My advice to ANYONE intending to order from him. DON'T!

Online Perfume SCAM »17 MAY 0926/07/20091

I would like to add my name to the long list of people (lambs to the slaughter), conned by Chris at The Perfume Emporium.

I placed an order on 17 May 09. Then came the usual excuses blaming the Post Office for not delivering my non existant perfume. After several weeks I requested a refund, and then waited 30 days in accordance with his T&Cs.

The refund was sent to my bank on 10 Jul 09. However, the electronic link between his bank and mine appears to be broken!

Chris is adamant that the money has gone from his bank, but unfortunately my bank dont seem to be able to find it.

Goodbye £31.33! Well done Chris, I wish I could earn money that easily.

Vera Wang Perfume 100ml »15th July 200904/08/20091

Well I wish I'd read all about The Perfume Emporium too.  Looks like I have been conned as I am still waiting for my order which was despatched on the 15th July and have been fobbed off by 'Chris' saying I had to wait 15 working days before he could ask Royal Mail. I e-mailed him again today and he has answered with if it hasn't come by the 5th August to contact him again and he will offer me a replacement or a refund.  As well as being annoyed with myself for being taken in by this company I think it's appalling that he has been allowed to get away with it for so long.  I informed in an email last week that I'd read bad press about the company on the internet and the reply I got was that they send out as many as 20,000 orders so there are bound to be a few bad reviews!!!

Thank you for listening to me and I will let you know if I get my delivery tomorrow.  I don't think I will somehow.

Refund »June 0903/11/20091

My daughter ordered a 50ml bottle of Kelly Caleche from this company in June, she has never received the perfume and has not had a refund to date, despite numerous e-mails back and forth she has just been fobbed off with different excuses as to why they will not issue a refund below are some of the comments from Chris at Perfume Emporium:"The cheques are being posted out in order. We have so many people to refund and cannot do this all at once."

"Please accept my sincere apologies regarding your refund.

We have had some major issues with Royal Mail which resulted in customers rightfully requesting refunds. As the list of refunds grew, we were unable to provide refunds as quick as we would've liked to and as the list got bigger the delay in receiving refunds got longer.

We have records of every single customer that has requested a refund and will make every intention of refunding everyone but unfortunately this will not be a quick process.
As we have changed our merchant provider we are now unable to process a refund directly to the card so cheques will be posted out. A seperate cheque will also be posted out for the value of £5, simply for the sheer inconvenience caused by The Perfume Emporium.
As customers have requested refunds at different stages through out their order, we feel that the best way to refund our customers is in order that their order was placed.
We have started posting cheques out already and yours should be with you in due course. Unfortunaetly I cannot give a date that this will be with you but I hope that the £5 compensation will cover any inconvenience and delay.
I realise this sitautation may not be ideal to some people but its the only option i can think of to refund every customer who is requesting them.
I must state that despite some adverse comments about us on forums, all products have been posted and we have in no way scammed anybody.
We have proof that items were posted but as they become lost by Royal Mail it takes a long time for us to get compenation from them.
We are doing our very best to resolve this as quickly as possible for everyone.
Feel free to email me any questions you may have."

Regards
Chris "No cheques have yet been posted. As detailed we can no longer refund the card.

The cheques will be with you as soon as possible".

MONEY BACK-HURRAY!!! »29/01/201002/07/20101

Chris has refunded my money to my bank (from January!!) after I told him that I had taken him to the smalls claim court (Money Claim on Line). Because I sent it to the wrong address initially he smugly told me that it was'nt valid. RUBBISH!!. He still owed me for the £25 it cost to make the claim. Went back to Money claim on line and asked them to submit a judgement (to his other address)on this £25. Had an email from Chris this morning saying there was a cheque in the post for the £25 (if I receive it!!)He also said how he thought it was totally unfare as the initial claim went to the wrong address. Can you believe this man!!!. If he'd sent the perfume in the first place there would not have been a problem. As I said before DO NOT GIVE UP DEMANDING YOUR MONEY BACK - THIS IS WHAT HE HOPES!! Go to Money Claim On Line, it may cost you £25 but he will be liable for this as well. GOOD LUCK!!!

Fake Goods »10/07/201012/11/20101

I placed an online order with Scent Mall for 100ml of Dior Dioressence EDT fragrence on 10/10/2010. Order number #19918 refers. My financial transaction was handled by Moneybookers. A battered, crushed box with Coco Mademoiselle printed on it was delivered. My wife uses Chanel and Dior products and she immediately recognised that the item was fake because there was not even a standard packaging liner inside the outer box. I immediately emailed Scent Mall and asked for the correct item to be delivered or a refund made. They responded by offering a £15 voucher toward another purchase and told me I could keep the fake product or return it at my expense and they would send the correct item. At this stage I was suspicious and visited several consumer websites where it became quite apparent that Scent Mall are a highly developed Scam operation based in Bulgaria. My experience was mirrored by dozens of other honest members of the public. A multitude of emails have been sent to and received from Scent Mall and they have promised several times to redeliver the correct product and/or refund my money. None of which have been forthcoming. I have raised a case with the UK European Consumer Centre case reference: 194094/10/UK refers. Also I have emailed the financial transaction handler Moneybookers and I await their response. Richard

A big thank you to UKECC. With their help and Bulgaria ECC pressure on Scentmall I have received a refund for the fake item which I returned to Scentmall. Still awaiting refund of return postage costs.

I am pleased to get the refund but have to say this is the shabbiest buying experience I have ever experienced online. Cannot recommend Scentmall in anyway at all.
