| Local Events Calendar rep contacted my wife and talked her through signing up for the trial 21 days (for a £5 artwork fee), after the trial they took £468.83 (from my debit card without any further notice/ authorisation)..
.. even though my wife had asked various questions regarding the ad and its exposure/ success throughout the trial period, and these questions remained unanswered.
We obtained the MDs email address, he replied ones saying he would look into it but we haven't heard from him since (about 5 weeks ago).
Some additional research: It seems the domain localeventscalendar.co.uk is registered to The UK Consumer Protection Agency... And it appears MIYU Ltd have other domains/ websites running I.e. Check www.learnerdriversguide.co.uk and the Contact Us link... Shows the exact same address in Hove! Again they are selling advertising space on this site.
Would welcome the opportunity to pursue this and try to get our money back; even if a large group of us made a visit to their office loaction!

| The same thing happened to me last year. I started contacting other advertisers to warn them and Local Events became very unpleasant and threatening. Some other advertisers also started doing the same as me. At this point all the adverts disappeared, and most of us got our money back. Surprised to see they are still up to their tricks, but no adverts on site?

| I bought an Ever White Kit online which was stated as free of charge with a £3.34 ($4.95) postage and packing fee. I paid with my credit card on 22 April 2010.
When my credit card statement came through, a company called IBuildWealth had taken the postage fee, then EverWhiteKit had taken a further £60.12 ($87.47).
I have looked on the internet and found hundreds of people have experienced this problem, having to cancel their credit cards as further payments kept being taken out at regular intervals.
I am in the process of sorting out with my credit card bank and am awaiting further instruction from them, i.e. change my card number, or block this company from accessing my card for payment.

Ordered two pairs of boots from this site went on to it and browsed what I thought was the genuine ugg shop as pictures are very convincing, when I went to pay I was redirected to another site. They took more money than they had quoted and said this was for handling charges. I was promised the boots would take 5-7 days, nearly four weeks later I receive only one pair of boots and they are complete fakes. Cannot get an address to return them everytime you email they do not reply. I am annoyed that google allow sites like this to continue to rip people off. Right now I bet someone else is being fooled and parting with their money for fake items.

I found this website because i wanted to start no sexuall escorting jobs.I rang the number and lovely lady named Emma was telling me how does the job looks like.She was saying that they are very busy and she will get me out as soon as possible.She rang me after two hour and she said that she have got customer for me.I was happy because it will be a chance to get some money.She said to me that before i go for the date i have to pay the fee for the company which is 255 pounds.Silly me!!!!!!!!I went to Western Union to paid that money for the name Louise Foley.She was ringing me all the time to make sure that i have paid that money.When i rang her to let her know that i have paid she was happier then ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!She rang me after couple of hours and she said that the customer is not well and he cancelled the date....
Please please please dont pay any money for this kind of agency!!!!!!!

| i was promised a loan of 3000 and would be in my account within 3-5 working days. all i had to do was pay a set up fee of 59.80 as iv never had a loan before i thought this was right until i found www.canwetrustthem.com and it seems like im not the only one being lied to. i phoned then yesturday and told them my internet was down and i couldnt get on my account so i asked when the money would be in my account and they said wensday the lastest them i log on and there say flm loans will take us on if we can get a guarantor and i cant get one but all that to one side i was promised all i had to do was pay the setup fee and the money would be in my bank why lie

| When will I learn!!! I seem to have a knack of picking rip off merchants to take my money off my hands! Just like everyone else making a complaint about The Perfume Emporium ,I too have not received goods ordered. Have emailed 'CHRIS' & have been told the Post Office must have lost my package & must wait 15 days. After reading the posts on this site it is now apparent my order has not been sent. Have sent another email but as yet , no reply. I will not give up without a fight. £42.90 may seem like a small amount, but it's nearly a day's wages & if Chris thinks he's gonna sit there & take money that myself & others have worked hard for - Think Again!

I ordered 3 DVDs from 7entertainment on 31 January 2010. They took payment straight away and delivered two DVDs. I have enquired where the third was and they said it was out of stock and would be posted in 3 days. It is now May and I am still waiting. I have sent countless emails asking for said DVD and have not had a reply. It may not be much money £11.99 but I am now doing this out of principal.

hi, all i could remember was that i applied for a payday loan online asking for just £200. i got declined. but to my surprise, thanks God i am a regular account checker. i check my account and realised that this company called POST NET LTD has placed a direct debit on my account. i quickly cancelled it. i dont remember doing any application through them. this people must be a rogue, scammer. i think they need to be investigated.

I put my car up for sale on gumtree and then got a call from motorplace uk telling me that they could sell my car but would have to pay a fee of £99.49. I paid it but then i sold my car privately. When i phoned motorplace uk to tell them i had sold my car they told me i couldn't get my money back but gave me a credit note with no expiry date to use at anytime. I applied for a loan with loans4sure, and they took a fee of 49.99 from my bank account. on the 1st october 2009 without my prior consent. I contacted them and they said that if no loan was paid out to me i would receive this back. still did not hear from them so rang them again, and they told me i would have to get my credit report before they could find me a loan. but they told me in the first instance that they had found a loan for me, and that the fee was the admin costs for doing so. still not had my loan and still not heard from loans4sure. please could you help me get my money back. regards sheila | |||||||||

I was contacted by one of their representatives asking if I'd like to advertise on their website for a 3 week FREE trial period. I thought, why not, what harm can it do? The rep then talked me through the website, asking me to tick certain boxes to get the trial. I questioned her about the appearance that I was signing up for a year's subscription but she reassured me that I would be contacted via email before the end of the trial to see how the response was and whether I'd like to continue. She then asked for a £4.95 payment for the "artwork costs" to create the banner advert. To pay this I had to enter my card details on the site.
22 days later, without any further communication from the company £470 was taken from my account! They had used my card details to authorise this withdrawal!
This has happened to a lot of people that I've spoken to and has made me determined to take action. To do this I need the help of all those that have had the misfortune of dealing with Local Events Calendar. I plan to take this company to court and present evidence from all those that have been duped in this way.
The company relies on the fact that they don't record their sales calls and vehemently deny that they tell people they will be contacted before the end of the trial. The case against them is that they have broken the verbal contract agreed on the phone by their representative (this comes from my solicitor!). However, I need your help to get this evidence (i.e. a statement dictating your experiences with this company).
A facebook campaign has been launched to air your grievances as well. Just search for Local Events Calendar, in the "Groups" section. However, the last campaign has been taken off the site after LEC contacted Facebook (it had 60 plus members with a greivance!). I have now started another, hopefully it will stay up there!

I made a online loan application through THE CREDIT PEOPLE. The credit poeple said i was guaranted an £12000 with 17% rate over 10 years from them and ask me to pay an £49.50 and the £12000 would be in my bank account within 3-5 working days once they recived the payment. I made the payment over the phone and the send to me an application loan form with a kind of contract on which it was stipulate that the fees are not refundable once the contract is signed,but they forgot to specify that they were just a broker aget. i received a lettre from them after few days advising me to call express finance (£1.50/min)what i did. Express finance loan told to me that i can have a loan only by making a joint application with my partner. | On March 26 I placed an online order for medicines from this mall company. The order was for Viagra, 25 mg x 40 pills valued at USD $98.75. They were supposed to be delivered in 15 days to Colorado. I had to go to Eorupe on 13 April and returned on 1 May 2010. The package had not been delivered. I checked at my loocal Post Office to see if it had been drought there, it had not been. I sent this company (Hadria Lambe was the rep who notified me of the order( three emails, on 5/7, 5/10, and 5/12 with no response. On 5/12 I called the cust support nr 1 323 545 3907 and left a message about the non receipt of this package. I have had no response from this company about the shipment or a refund of my USD $98.75. I tried the cust svc link on the web site and it was disabled as I have had no response from it. I believe that this is a dummy company set up to defraud online customers and it should be closed down. I want a refund of my purchase price of USD $98.75. I hope you can take action against this fradulent company.

I placed an order for just over £100 worth of goods on 15th February 2010. I received an email from the only contact at this company, Gemma, who informed me that only a small quantity of the items that I had ordered were in stock, and the rest was on back order, so did I wish for these items to be kept on back order or did I wish to select substitute goods. I responded that if they could send me what they had in stock and I would wait for the items on back order, as I know these items are imported from the US. I was happy to receive the items in stock two days later. About three weeks passed and I had no communication or deliveries from erotic clothing regarding the out of stock items. I emailed Gemma asking for an update and kept emailing but have never received a reply. When I finally found their telephone number, buried down in their website, it was a dead line. I have had no reply from the company since and have never received the outstanding goods that I ordered. Also, as I had paid by debit card, I'm not covered as I would be if I had paid by credit card. | |||||||||
