I first took out my student account with this bank in 1996 and after ten years of being with this bank, I managed to pay back all my debts that I owed with them included my management loan. Then I got into a spot of bother with some money in 2007, partially due to illness and going to hospital, so they gave me an extra overdraft to cover charges. Then when I went into hospital in the summer of 2007, I started getting harassing phone calls almost on a daily basis claiming I was overdrawn and not enough money was going into the account, despite £20.00 a month getting paid in and they said it wasn't enough.
I was going to work abroad that year, so really didn't want the hassle, so I made sure I had a direct debit of £20.00 to repay any outstanding debts to this bank. This went on until 2009, when the bank decided to contact me claiming that this was not good enough and threatened to send me to debt collectors. I had a direct debit of £10.00 from my other account to HSBC, which had never failed in a payment plus I was getting bank statements every month to prove that the overdraft (which was agreed at the time) was reducing every time monies came into the account.
Even though, they were receiving the money monthly, HSBC still passed me onto a debt collection company who started to harass me and when I sorted it with this company, they agreed to take £10.00 per month just like HSBC were agreeing to. I had not cancelled my direct debit to HSBC at the time, so they were still getting paid despite all this agro!
Then I cancelled the direct debit in April 2009, because of the constant hassle and the fact that HSBC had closed my account or sold it on without even putting it in writing first. I was informed by other banks that this was not legal practice and that HSBC had to let me know via letter, they did not do this at all.
Then I left it for a while as I was so upset by the whole thing and contacted the complaints department at HSBC who looked into the matter and appeared to think they were in the right. I did not pay any money, because I did not know who I was supposed to be paying. Towards the end of 2009, I changed address and was in receipt of three nasty letters and any amount of phone calls regarding this debt. These were all from different debt collection companies who were pursueing me for the HSBC debt, they sold it onto God knows how many collectors, which again is illegal! Hence I went via the Ombudsman and they took the side of the bank without actually looking into the matter and did not consider both sides of the coin.
HSBC have done me a huge injustice, they took over £500 of my wages in 2007, £200 was for charges back in March of that year and £300 (maybe more) was to cover this overdraft which got paid into that account in November of that year too. They were even getting £20.00 per month on top of that and there were no missed payments in 2008 until April 2009, so why have I been passed from pillar to post on this?
I feel that this has been totally blown out of proportion and if HSBC had let me continue paying £10.00 per month in 2009, this debt would have cleared by now and I would owe them nothing. The fact that I don't feel I owe this debt is wrong too.
They have now passed me to another debt collection agency and I am at my wits' end. Can anybody help me at all? | |||||||||

I was a right idiot and needed to find a loan to get my fiances in order. I thought it was too good to be true and typed in my bank details on this website not realising that they would take money out of my account and had illegally set up three direct debits! I was fuming, so put in for a refund after contacting the company. They seemed to think they were in their rights, but they claim I am getting a refund within a few working days. I will hold my breath and if not, will have them done for fraud, as I never gave them permission to take money out of my account and did not sign any such direct debit forms as these people claimed!
They are preying on the vulnerable, because they know some of us have a terrible credit record and will try to catch us any way they can. It isn't right and it can't be legal. I want my money back as I can't live off fresh air and I need to pay bus fare to get to work, thanks!!!! | |||||||||

| paid the trade register for one year, was told they would get me work for a trusted tradesman. they wanted referances so they could check that my work was up to the standard they promised there customers. my referances were never followed up. was also told if no work came my way the money i paid would be refunded. when i tryed to claim i was told i only had fourteen days to claim, but i had missed this. then to my horror they had taking out another year as they said i had paid by standing order. all together i have paid this company £693.26. they are a total rip off and need there website removed. www.thenationaltraderegister.co.uk. i would like to claim the total money back. if you could help me i would like to know, my company name is alexandria designs

| Viewed, loved, drove and bought a Renault Grand Scenic for our rapidly expanding family. (wife was 8 months pregnant at the time). Paid in cash the full amount on 6th May to collect the car on 8th May. On collecting car, discovered (as well as the usual empty fuel tank despite the £81. admin fee) that the multi function sterring wheel didn't work, CD changer was missing and CD/Radio didn't work at all along with dash display for the radio. Reported this straight away to be told to take the car home, visit local Renault to have a quote for the work to be carried out. Quoted £600 to repair so Cargiant decided too high, asked to return car for repair when parts available. No calls returned, 6 weeks. Eventually told bring car for repair 2 months later. Arrive at 12 for appointment, car not taken until gone 1. Asked to wait in canteen for repair. Phoned them at 3.30 to be told part will be in tomorrow! Advise I'm already at Cargiant waiting, they say come and talk to customer manager who (an hour later arrives) to ask me to come back tomorrow to have car repaired. I say no. This is too long to repair (2 months) I want compensation and repaired car or refund. Offered two tanks of free fuel, temporary car (after much haggling and pain) for family holiday and promise of delviery of fixed car in 1 week. 4 weeks later, car delivered. CD changer still missing. Radio works but dash damaged. Speed Limiter inoperative, Cruise Control inoperative, pulling to the right AND Mileage RESET TO ZERO MILES with no evidence as to why thus rendering car illegal to drive and impossible to sell on in years to come. Request repair, including correct miles to be put back on and told impossible to do. Phoned Renault to check...confirmed Cargiant lying as can put correct milage on. More lengthy delays between contacting us back...this time confirmed can repair mileage and other issues within a couple of weeks. Request compensation for the 3+ months that I've NOT been able to own or drive my £5.5K car..told "dont do refunds and dont do compensation". Trading Standards confirmed what we already knew. Under Sale of Goods Act Cargiant MUST refund us as Car has been rejected from day 1 and not as described. Letters back and forth, Cargiant refusing to compensate or refund. Now taking them to Sherrif Court as too high for small claims court. HAve Cancer in family to deal with, new baby and one other child, business to run, no money, car that is illegal to drive (police confirmed) and have to deal with Court costs to get back whats owed.
Cargiant are a total and utter disgrace. It looks good on the surface but whilst I've been there complaining about our car I've seen over 6 other customers with similar horror stories. AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS...These Scumbags think they can get away with this because of their size...they just picked on the wrong "little man". Any free help from Legal experts is welcomed!!!

| ordered 4 tshirts from this website which looked legit and had UK domain. when it arrived had been shipped from Thailand. All tshirts were fake and tried to contact website owner but no reply and website has been shut down.currently trying to get money back. payment went to Andrew Byard via Paypal.

i went to the bank to withdraw cash to discover that these people had taken 67.50 out of my account wish had left me nothing as i am on benefits and i am fighting with the bank to get it back i ave never heard tell of these people.

Wentworth phoned me as I was making enquiries re a loan. The man on the phone told me that I was guaranteed a loan and that they needed my account details. foolishly I gave him the details thinking that they wanted them for my loan transfer. After a few minutes of him going on about irrelevant items, he then told me that there would be a brokers fee of £59. He asked me if it was okay to go ahead and I told him that I would have to see the loan paperwork first before I agreed. Right then the phone went dead. As I had not actually agreed to anything I did not think anything further would take place. A few days later I got some paperwork offering me a loan. and a day later a letter from Wentworth thanking me for the £59 fee. I had not agreed to the broker fee being taken and did not want or use the loan they referred to me.
I tried phoning to tell that I had not agreed to the money being taken out of my account. I was told to contact a Jenny Shepherd,who apparently does not take calls. I was advised to write to them, which I did and as I had not received a refund or acknowledgement of my letter I phone them up again and they denied recieving anything from me. I phoned again and was told to resend the letter. During that phone call the lady advised me that she was going to speak to the refund department, whilst I held on. She came back on the line after a few minutes and assured me that a refund would be issued within 7, but that I should still resend my original letter, which I did. The next day I god a letter telling me that in order for me to get my refund I should submit a copy of a utility bill and a copy of my payslip.
Taking into account that I had already written twice and spent almost an hour on the phone, I find this very unprofessional and think they do this as a delaying tactic to frustrate someone to the point where they will just give up and not go any further with a claim.
The other issue I have is that when they took the broker fee they did not ask for any proof of residence or income details, so why do they need it now. In thier letter they say
"Please do not be offended that we have asked you for the above items,. In the past we have received a large number of fraudulent applications where people have applied for a loan under a false name or address. Others have applied for loans pretending to be working when in fact they are not. As a company we to protect ourselves against such applications."
Basically they have taken money out of my account without my permission.
I would like to send a copy of this to them but cannot find an email address for them. Please advise.

I paid Kerobo £345 to overturn my credit card account with MBNA as they stated that having received the necessary documentation from MBNA there were flaws in the contract and therefore it was not legal. Now 14 months later I have finally received a letter from ATM Solicitors who acted on behalf of Kerobo stating that their claim was unsuccessful in court and that the only route now was to appeal. Kerobo therefore have been unsuccessful in their attempt to overturn the MBNA account and as the contract clearly states "On a no win no fee" agreement, I am entitled to have my money refunded. I have tried to contact Kerobo who now only seem contactable by a single email address. No matter what,I will take action to see that justice is done. There are many innocent and trusting people who have been conned in the same way and measures must be put in place to ensure this does not happen in future.

I subscribed to a trial offer of a teeth whitening system (stupid me!!) and was allowed 10 days in which to see if I liked the product before agreeing to subscribe to a monthly charge of AUD$95.53 - this was on August 1st 2010. On August 9th 2010 this amoutn was withdrawn from my bank account - I have not even received the trial product as yet. But the big problem is that there is no way to cancel the subscription - the phone numbers are all false, there is no reply email to contact the company. I really hate these sort of companies, they are the parasites of the universe and now I have had to contact my bank to stop all payments and search the transaction to have the money returned. THIS COMPANYS ROBBED ME OF £47.50, THEY TOOK THE MONEY OUT OF MY ACCOUNT WHEN I HADNT EVEN RECIEVED A LOAN FROM THEM. I ONLY RECIEVE £112.80 A FORTNIGHT AS IM UNEMPLOYED AND THEYVE QUITE LITERALLY ROBBED ME OF MY BENEFIT. I DID NOT GIVE THEM CONSENT AND NO WHERE IN THERE TERMS AND CONDITIONS DID IT SAY THEYD TAKE £47.50 FROM MY ACCOUNT. IM INFORMING TRADING STANDARDS, WATCHDOG AND TAKING THEM TO COURT. THIS IS OUTRAGEOUSE. IM DISGUSTED.

I bought aacai berry weight lose tablets and was told in terms if I was happy a further 89 dollars would come out of my account after 20 days. To my disbelief this payment has been taken after a week and I have not received any further tablets. I have tried to contact their customer service department through the numbers they sent to me in an email and all numbers are unobtainable. They are now taking money out of my account without authorisation for something I have not received. Please do not buy this product on-line. | I ordered a "free sample" of the "Maximum Burn Xtreme" Acai berry supplement on 31 Jul 2010 and received my order two days ago. After looking it up I noticed many people complaining about being added to a monthly subsricption that cost approx. $88. I WOULD LIKE TO CANCEL MY ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY. I was not aware, yes I should have read the fine print, of this being a subscription. The 10-day trial period has ended for me and I am sure my bank account has a withdrawal for $87.47. As many other customers, I have had no success in contacting the 800 number listed on me e-mail receipt or on the website.

She was sat in the post office cubicle & ignored me even though I was stood in front of her. When she did speak she made no eye contact. Dear Sir/Madam,
We purchased three items from Mamas and Papas. The quality of the product was not satisfactory and therefore the items were sent back under the exact instructions from Mamas and Papas. We did not use a recorded delivery service as this would have been an additional expense.
The items have not been registered on their system, presumably lost in their warehouse and therefore they are refusing to pay back the money that they owe us.
The overall service has been appalling, countless hours waiting on the phone, not returning calls when specifically stating that they would. Lying about returning calls. It has been the worst company that we have ever dealt with.
We are still awaiting payment and are unlikely to receive it now as the items have not turned up after 1 month of waiting,

| On 29 June I placed an order for some Hermes fragrance. On 12 July I contacted support@theperfumeemporium.co.uk to ask if my order had been sent. I received a reply from 'Chris' on 12 July assuring me that it had. Chris advised that he had contacted Royal Mail to get an 'update' on my order but had been asked to wait 15 working days from when the order was despatched.
On 22 July I advised them that my order still hadn't been received. A reply offered a refund or replacement. Entirely unaware that this was a scam I asked for a replacement order. On 23 July I received an email confirming that this had been actioned.
It's now 11 August and still nothing. I stumbled across this site purely because I googled 'phone number Perfume Emporium' and my stomach churned when I realised that this was a scam. I've since emailed Chris twice more but, predictably, haven't had a reply. This is the first time I've been scammed by an online retailer and it leaves a nasty taste.

Hi
I made an application to this company for a loan of £100. They said no money would be taken up front so I wasn't worried, until I googled them to go back to my application and saw all the posts about them being a scam.
I have emailed them and left a voicemail.
I called my bank straight away but they were very unhelpful saying they couldn't stop any payments going out.
I will go over my overdraft if they take any money and will be in a worse position than when I started.
Please help?

| I am a student and was browsing for a small loan for my holiday. I came across the loan centre and looked for a quote. Only to find a week later, the stupid loan company had taken £47.50 from my account as a charge for browsing. I don't even want a loan any more and I am now out of pocket, money which was going to be exchanged for euros for my holiday. I am deeply upset and will not consider a loan ever again

| I went into my bank on 9th August 2010 but couldn't take out the amount that i needed. I went onto my online banking to check where the money disappeared to and it said it went to 'Postnet Ltd' which i had no idea what is was. There isn't any way i can find to get the money back as its important i do get it back as i have bills and other things to pay out for. I have no recollection of giving my bank details to anyone.
