Lion Resorts Rip Off »8th May 2010no01/08/20100
Our problem started in September 2009 with being hi jacked in car park in Paphos 2nd day of our holiday by a very likeable chap who invited us back to the Capital Coast Hotel as we had won a holiday from the scratch card he gave us. 4 hours later, after being given a very polished presentation we signed up to Lion Resorts/RCI Vacation Club. We were impressed by the standard of accomodation we were sold, we were advised that they would increase our initial 2 week 'free' holiday to 4 weeks with car hire for one week thrown in, we paid nearly £4000.00 on a credit card and were invited to dinner with the lady who had done the presenatation, all very nice. Then we got home..........initially we tried to cancel, this was within a week of getting home, we were abruptly advised via email that this was not possible. We decided to accept the inevitable. In January I tried to book the holiday we wanted in May. The location we wanted was not available and only Sharm el Sheikh in Egypt had vacancies for the time in May we had booked off work. I booked it. I also booked for 2 weeks in Cyprus for September at the Capital Coast Hotel, at no time in this telephone conversation was I advised that these bookings were only provisional and would not be confirmed until I confirmed flight details to them. At the beginning of April I recieved a call from Capital Coast requesting our flight details. I felt this was reasonable and as I had been checking flights on the internet for at least a couple of months I felt that I could book easily I confirmed our dates 8th May for 14 nights, Saturday to Saturday, when I confirmed these dates, that I had booked, the person I was talking to asked what we were doing for thenight of the 8th as this holiday runs Sunday to Sunday. To say I was shocked is putting it mildly. Capital Coast took no responsibility at all for this and in numerous emails back and forth I learnt all about their reservations systems and how it could never go wrong at their end. I asked if they could help me to book a hotel room in Sharm for the one night and as a gesture of goodwill from them for them to cover the cost of the room. This was declined in no uncertain terms. I have all the emails. So I booked from home. We flew out to Sharm el Sheikh on the 8th May 2010. We were met at the airport by a taxi driver, not the limousine we were advised would collect us. He deposited us at the Mexicana Sharm Hotel where I had booked the room for the one night. Suzanne, Lion Resorts rep was there to meet us, which under the circumstances we thought was very good as this was a hotel booked for one night and not the resort we were booked into with Lion Resorts....or so we thought. We were taken to our room, which we had booked ourselves as no one at Capital Coast could manage that, Suzanne advised us that she would meet us at 3pm the next day to take us to our Lion Resorts 'suite'. We checked out of that room at 12 noon and transported ourselves and our luggage to reception and we left the cases there until we met Suzanne who took us to our ‘suite’. This was next door to our room of the previous night. We had previously been advised by Michelle at Capital Coast, that Lion Resorts only had a block of apartments at the Mexicana Sharm and were of a better standard that the other apartments, what they must be like beggers belief ! The ‘suite’ was such a disappointment, considering that we had been promised 5* accommodation. The cooking facilities were 2 rings, we had to turn the toaster upside down to get the bread out and the kettle lid was warped so didn’t turn off. There was only a bright orange ‘put you up’ spare bed in the lounge to sit on, a broken standard lamp, a coffee table and a TV on a base, The bathroom on initial viewing appeared to be OK, until you started using it, the grouting was black around the shower and in the sink, there was a door stop on the floor just in front of the shower that I stepped on and nearly broke my foot. Where was the flat screen TV, the comfortable seating area with separate dining area, fully fitted kitchen and ‘top spec’ bathroom? I have photographs of the accommodation, in no way was this 5* nearer a 3* and that is being generous. We met with Suzanne the following day and we voiced our complaints. She advised, that she would sort the kettle and toaster out straight away for us, this took her a week for the toaster and the kettle was never changed. We advised her that we felt that as the cooking facilities were so inadequate we wanted Lion Resorts to compensate us in some way, either by providing us with evening meals, (the resort catered for all inclusive) or allow us to barbecue on the balcony. The result of this was a free meal to the value of 350E£ at the Hard Rock Café, in the next town, transport not provided so we had to pay for a taxi there and back at a cost of 30E£. That was the total compensation that she was able to offer. She did intimate that her Manager, Tim, was looking into something else for us and we would meet with him the following week. On the Tuesday of the following week, we met with Suzanne again and she did a pitch for Lion Resorts, we advised her that after everything that we had been through with Lion Resorts we are not interested really in pursuing anything further, she encouraged us to meet with her again on the Wednesday when she would take us to the Amraj which is the new resort and where we would meet with Tim. We agreed to go as we wanted to speak with him On our first week at Mexicana, we got talking to another couple who had insisted on being moved from the Amraj as it was a building site with no facilities. On Wednesday we went to the Amraj, it was a building site, well the Lion Resorts part was, the swimming pool was closed due to the dust and muck from the building sites. The actual hotel area was beautiful but Lion Resorts guests were not allowed to use it. Suzanne showed us around one of the few suites that had been completed and it was lovely, exactly what we had been expecting. We met with Tim. He apologised for the Mexicana Sharm Resort and stated that it was not 5* and he was unhappy that Lion Resorts guests were being put in there. I voiced all our complaints to him and he advised us that he had in fact, sacked several people from Capital Coast due to complaints about bad customer service, whether this was true or not I do not know. Tim then started the ‘pitch’ and he proceeded to tell us what he could do for us to compensate us for the poor service we had received from Capital Coast, together with discounts and special prices to enable us to get the full Lion Experience. This went as follows: To experience the full Lion Experience would mean upgrading at a cost of just over £17,000, with the following discounts : The amount back that we had spent initially + an extra amount to cover the plane tickets, this amounted to just over £4,000.00 this would cover not only the initial payment but our flights out to Sharm el Sheik, to this were we offered £775.00 as an apology for staying at the Mexicana Sharm as it was not 5* and Tim also apologised again for the Mexicana and stated that he did not like the Mexicana as it let down the standard of accommodation that was being sold to customers. He also offered us back the 2 week holiday so that we would in effect, have another 2 weeks 'free' to holiday where we wanted. All this at a cost to us of just under £13000.00 ! We advised them that we wanted to sleep on it, next day we met again with Suzanne and advised her that we were not interested, she then offered us 50% discount if we took the offer that Tim spoke with us about but that it would be a bi-annual membership. We turned her down. Nothing else was offered to us as an apology or as a gesture of goodwill, we either accepted the offer and pay £13,000.00 to get the discounts and compensation or get nothing. Considering all the upset we had been caused in our relationship with Lion Resorts and Capital Coast and the apologies and admissions regarding the state of the Mexicana Sharm, I would have thought that there would have been an offer of some kind of compensation, bearing in mind that part of the deal offered, £775.00, was referred to by Tim as the 'Mexicana Sharm discount' To cap it all, the transfer from the hotel to the airport duly arrived and transported us to the airport. He dropped us at the wrong terminal and charged us 10.00E£ for the entrance cost for his taxi to go into the airport car park to drop us off. All in all a pretty disastrous state of affairs considering how big the company is and the industry that they are in, namely, providing a dream holiday experience. I will be sending an email copy of this complaint to Capital Coast in Cyprus once they supply me of a Director / Manager's name, I have already requested this information twice from Capital Coast but the requests have been ignored. We are booked to stay at Capital Coast this September, as we had 'been given 4 weeks free holidays' plus free car hire for a week , trying to get that reserved was a nightmare as well, down to the high handed attitude of Carol Gallagher. She advised me on the 22nd April at 14.30 that she was giving me 48 hrs to confirm our flight details or she would cancel. I subsequently called to confirm flight details over the weekend only to be told that she had cancelled the reservation on Friday 23rd. I know that there is a time difference between Cyprus and the UK but there really is no excuses for her action. Luckily we could move the flight to accommodate her and have booked for the 21/9/2010. Should be an eventful experience!!!!! I have sent a copy of this by letter form, registered post to the Registered Head Office in Preston. It was refused and returned to me, I have also emailed a copy of this letter to lion resorts, it was ignored, perhaps now they will contact me ?

Clothing Planet selling fake designer clothes »27/06/2010yes01/08/20100
On 27th June I bought a Lacoste polo shirt from www.clothingplanet.co.uk, which looks like a UK website as it has a .co.uk domain, but when it arrived it was clearly a fake and had been dispatched from Thailand. They eventually agreed to a refund but I had to return the shirt to an address in Thailand. After a month, they claimed they still hadn't received it and it must have (conveniently) got lost in the post, so I wouldn't be getting my refund. I've since seen reviews online that this is a fradulent company selling fake designer clothes. At the time of ordering I had to pay by PayPal, but after checking their website today, I've noticed they are now making buyers go through Amazon when ordering. The address I had to return the item to is; 68/18 Moo 1 Khao Mai Kaew Banglamung Chonburi 20150 Thailand Their email address is sales@clothingplanet.co.uk

After I apply for a job as a male companion in this company, I received a email few days later telling me that my profile was the one they been looking for and, that they already had secured a booking for me. A few days later "Sara" emailed me telling me that the client has to contact me to rearrange a new meeting cause she wasnt be able to make it that particular day. That makes me more suspicious than I already was, but I paid the fee like they ask me to secure the booking and get on with it. After I contacted this "lady Sara"asking if the client will be contact me soon, and if I can trust her company, she replay that the client will be contact me during the weekend and I absolutly can trust her agency. Of course nobody contacted me and surprise surprise when I start looking for some feedbacks or information I found identical complains to mine in your site. Clearly a pure scam, which believe or not I fall. I might not get my money back but I will fight for this company get what they deserve.

After 2 emails and a message on the answer phone from me to say I had not recieved the goods they emailed me on 17 May 2010 and told me stock was expected 'next week'. On 1st June 2010 I cancelled the order as it was too late and asked for a refund. 4th June 2010 they said they would refund. After several more emails from me they said on 16 June 2010 that they would put cheque in post. More emails from me last one to say I would contact Trading Standards on 10 July 2010 if I had not recieved refund by then. Not Honoring Contract »2-26-10no31/07/20100
I signed a contract with Diamond Resorts on 2-26-10 to sign over my time share for 13,000 points a year. The contract clearly states in three places that the points are to begin on January 1, 2010. After the points never showed up they told me it starts on January 1, 2011. After several phone calls they finally agreed that is what the contract stated and said they would deposit them. They still did not show up and now when I call they say they won't because my time share had already been deposited for the year. The guy that sold me the contract knew that and said it did not matter, also the contract does not make any reference to the status of the timeshare for 2010. Also, they told me the amount of the contract, 3,190 was "interest free" for 60 days. It was not and when I went to pay it off in 60 days they charged me 22% interest. Then late fees because I was contesting it. I finally just paid the interest and late fees to get it over with. But now I can't get the points they promised. My biggest concern is that this company is fruadulent so I no longer want to do business with them - I am convinced they will continue to take advantage of me. Since they voided the contract by not honoring it, can I get my fees back including the interest and late fees (ignoring the several hours I wasted trying to get them to do the right thing?)

I CAN'T BELIEVE WHAT I AM READING HERE. These comments are obviously coming from ex franchisees, in other words; business failures who have invested hard earned money & lost it. ALL BUSINESSES ARE DIFFICULT TO GET STARTED - Success or failure is the difference between one operator or another. Sounds like 'SOUR GRAPES' to me.When I talk to the Smart ABC operators, it's obvious they are making GOOOD money, and the system being used is better than I have seen before, and they point out that the system actually cost almost half of what a similar Company offers. My advice is; 'look at all systems'. It should be obvious which one to get. Smart ABC are a superb outfit.

ONLY GOT ONE ISSUE; REFUSED DESERVED REFUND. »7/25/10no30/07/20101
I subscribed in mid March. It took me two months and several emails just to get my first issue, and then I never received another. I received my one issue in mid May, and by July 25th nothing else had arrived. I demanded on July 25th that I be issued a refund for the 11 issues left on my subscription. They insisted they had sent 4 issues total, and only gave me a partial refund. When I told them that I would pursue this matter if they didn't do the right thing, they accused me of blackmail. Then they blocked my email so i could have no further contact with them. Copied from my email in full: "Paul, We will not be blackmailed on something that has already been resolved. The correct refund amount has already been returned to you based on what has already been sent – a breakdown of which we already sent you. I will this morning be contacting econsumer.gov and will be providing them with the tracking numbers for the issues we have sent you. We will not be responding to any more of you emails as the matter is resolved." The next email I sent received this: "System Notification - *blocked sender*" They took forever to respond in the beginning, and ended up ripping me off for 50 bucks. I will never buy from them again.

Worst conduct I have ever experienced »23/06/2010no30/07/20100
My ordeal started on the 23rd June, when I spotted a (what was pleasant to the eye) property on their website. I sent my partner to have a look. She liked it and I called back to ask when we can move in. I was told to pay £276.13 (admin fee) for them to take the property off the market. However, I never thought that I was going to have to wait until 3rd July to see this property after I had already paid the admin fee. I was going to be the lead tenant for this property. Hmmmm!!!!Please READ ON it gets very interesting. Jackie Parsons became, distant, unreliable and quite abrupt, non-responsive when I started asking questions about the council tax band, current electricity method, gas etc. I also questioned her about, exit fees, insurance (they tried to force this upon me), lease renewal fees(all hidden extras). I did not think I was dealing with Raynair, however, they BEHAVED in the same manner. I complaint to Kim Evans (are manager) with no positive outcome. I am still totally UNAWARE of the EXACT TIME I am moving into the property, as they still have to complete the exit inventory on the same morning I am suppose to be moving in. I HAVE 110 things to worry about and THIS WHOLE ORDEAL IS MAKING IT VERY PAINFUL FOR ME. I have never come across such unethical, unscrupulous dealings in my life. THE LIES JUST CONTINUE. I HOPE THAT I WILL FINALLY BE ABLE TO MOVE IN, BUT SINCERELY HOPE THAT THIS FLAT IS ALL WORTH IT IN THE END.

exactly the same senario as all the people above.....only fortunately for me, i had a problem setting my account up with Western Union, i asked a friend to help me because i thought i was doing something wrong, he advised me to check scams for diamond companions, which i did and to my dissapointment all what these people were saying, is exactly what happened to me, my date was with a Guy called James 48, who was a really lovely man, and was one of their regulars, the only difference was it was Danielle who was my point of contact, her number is 0870 140 4096, and money was to be paid into a spanish account to Louis Daniel Brennan. i was also told that their email system was down and she couldnt send the attachment for my pictures. i'm glad i read these comments before proceeding as i am not in a position to lose 350.00 pounds.

I saw an advert, applied, staff as nice as anything until they get your money then they dont even bother in contacting you. As far as i am concerned i am unemployed it took a lot to get money like that then they just dismiss you like you are nothing. Make a lot of promises but never deliver. I had made numorous calls to them and off course once again say the right thing. Now when you try to call number always engaged. Advice dont even step there with this agencie as all they do is talk rubbish and are reading from a sheet of paper in the right things to say, a complete scam.

i was called on my mobile and the person from wentworth asked me that they where following up a online enquiry about taking out a loan. they then asked me how much i would like to apply for and over how long would i like to repay this. they then asked me to verify that i was a uk resident and this could be done by confirming my bank details but not to worry as nothing will come out of my account it is just so they have it to pay the loan into but a week later i noticed that £59.00 had gone out my account so i asked at the bank who had taken it and the told me wentworth finance. i contacted this company only to be told that if i wanted my money back i had to send a letter to them i said why should i have to do this as you didnt send me a letter saying that your taking my money. in the end i sent a letter but no response ihave since sent 3 more letters but nothing i have phoned this company but they say that they have never recieved them

Refund £99.99 »Jun-10no30/07/20100
I received call from Bentley Cooper saying my information for loan was passed to them through my bank. They said they already had my bank details, so i trusted them. They took out £99.99 from my account and when I called them, they said it was for my loan application and i can claim refund if i do not want to proceeed. I asked them for refund of £99.99 and they said I would have to put it in writing. I sent a letter on 14/06/10 and they asked me to wait for 28 days. I called them on 28/07/10. now they say wait till October 2010. I received a letter from them saying this refund would be made in Oct 2010 but this letter was on plain paper, with no signature of any one and no address or company details! It does not at all look like a professional letter. I would be much obliged if anyone could advise me, how do I get my money back please. Many Thanks
